Remote 3D View - New issue

My Remote 3D View had been working fine on my 2019 M850i. The last few times, it results in just the car's image and grey all around it. The prices from starting to rendering reports OK (al green check marks), yet the image is like it never took the pictures. Anyone else has experienced this? Any idea what is wrong?

Mine is working normally, though the Connected app made me sign in all over again and it took awhile for the command to reach the car and return the image.

I am on the 11/2019 software and have the latest iOS app. It was working ok with these versions until it wasn’t. thanks

This is likely a server software/storage issue and not the car SW/App.

Ours worked perfectly a couple of weeks ago and now we have the same.
No changes and the car does what it needs to do for picture taking...

I tested mine yesterday via my Samsung Galaxy phone and it's working as it should. Car is on latest software.

Good to know! Since the service is provided via a 3rd party provider, this can easily be country/continent-specific (different servers)

Tried calling a BMW Genius a couple of times to at minimum report it. They probably can't do anything other that compile the reported problems. Alas, they are yet to answer the phone. Isn't them an email here: bmwgenius@bmwusa.com I suggest others with the problem send them an email too.

I got an auto reply from the genius email above:

For all issues logging into the BMW Connected App or BMW ConnectedDrive, please call BMW Assist at 888-333-6118 or e-mail, customercare@bmwassist.com.

While not a logging issue, I am resending the problem report to them as well.

I hope BMWUSA has improved this experience, as in the past I have found the "geniuses" and Assist to be worthless in this matter, it was only after i asked my dealer to update to 07/2019.55 everything began to operate as designed.

Yep, same experience for me when I was having issues with the Connected Drive app "connecting" to my M850i. I lumped them up similar to my experience with the "lack of genius" in interacting with the Apple Store geniuses.

How did you find out that the BMW Connected App and/or Cloud service is done via a 3rd party provider? It makes sense in this outsourcing world but if it is true I guess I'll need to stop bashing BMW so much as it isn't their developers or operations staff of the cloud service.

I took a 3D view of my M850i on Friday via my Google Pixel 3XL running the latest Android 11 along with the latest Connected Drive app and it worked fine (love the way it renders my wife's X5 as ginormous) but forgot to update the thread. Just did the same with my work iPhone XS which was updated last week to iOS 14 and I ended up with the same result as the OP. So I checked to see if there is was an updated iOS app and it looks like version 10.9 is the latest and was auto upgraded on 9/28.

That said in reviewing the release notes it is definitely iOS 14 which explains why it may work for others still on iOS 13. Have no fear though as BMW (or their 3rd party) is actively working with Apple on resolving the issue.
