AMG GT 63 S eats RS7 alive

I'm not a fan of Audi's at all. Their design is decent but they're all transverse engine - front drive based with Quattro which helps but doesn't make up for Audi's being under steering pigs

The latest RS models are just a bit disappointing of how they trail BMW and MB on the street or track. Like how they look though...

Audi pretty much lost their only advantage of AWD with the newest M5 or E63S. They are great looking though, but like OP don't care for the engine setup of the MLB platform on Audi's, also the piano black plastic all touch interior is an OCD nightmare.

No shame in Audi losing this race IMO - it's not going to make a real difference in public road scenarios at legal speeds. Yeah they lose bragging rights somewhat, but look really good!

Every time I see one of you guys getting excited about the RS6 I'm just thinking that you've already got the E63s wagon over there and that's the much better car in every way, especially when it comes to corners.

But this is in a straight line and the overgrown passat just gets hammered. It also just isn't the understeer which is only really apparent when pushing hard but the cars are just hard to get turning plus they have a huge amount of torque steer.

For me the RS6 is a bit of don't meet your heroes. But unlike a Countach you expect a modern car to be decent!

The only thing exciting about the new RS6 for me is the design, as its a beautiful wagon, other than that I would take an E63S Wagon anyday over the RS6 even if it isn't as beautiful, but I am a tad biased .

As a huge fan/owner of Audi a decade ago, Audi is content for 3rd place in performance and is more into trivial welcome light shows for its owners. Too much design over substance mentality at Audi.

Same would hold true for tune on M8 or AMG GT or any turbo charged car.

Audi's are very nice cars and for the most part the RS's are underpowered compared to most direct competitors but offer a unique driving experience with superb fit/finish/design...

I think the rs7 is perfect for people like my dad. He likes the luxury of the s-class/7series but is tired of their huge size. The rs7 is about the same size as an m5 or e63 but is more comfortable/luxury for that class of car, almost as comfortable as the large sedans. The a7 or 5series or eclass are comfortable too, but don't come with the same status. The rs7 fills a nice gap in the market that bmw and mercedes did not fill.

Thanks Wolf for this.... I like CarWow and Matt alot. They just do silly races and he has funny dialogue and add ins. Further, we get a general view of the cars from a street view and roll. 11.1 is pretty good for the GT63S and all its weight- I do believe the gearing and tq splits or lack of them helped the Merc while the RS7 continues to suffer from parasitic loss thru the gears. But it always has had that issue(Ive owned 2) and that indeed can be remedied by a tune. The car responds to mods well and IMHO its the better looker than the GT63S although Im biased with previous ownership. The ZF8 is the same or similar as my F90 M5 but BMW does a better job with its TCU programming and drive train adjustments.. The Merc is a polarizing chunk of metal to say the least.
