Akra is a piece of art. No arguing that. Weight savings is really what you get. Before you got some sick tips but carbon got cheap and almost every exhaust brand had some tips like it

Turbos and cats mute a tremendous amount of sound.
Unless you are doing other exhaust mods most exhaust sound the same.


What does wonders in changing tone is adding a X pipe. I ran a Manhart, Dinan and then FI exhaust on my f85. The Dinan and the Manhart sounded just like stock either maybe 10-15% additional volume. Both were axle back. Added catted Downpipe’s and things got better.

Ended up with FI and there was a drastic change in tone. Like to
Say it was purely based on the x pipe but sure there was something else. Fi is a cat back system + catted Downpipe’s life was good.

Looking for other options for the m8. Sure Remus and FI should releasing their systems soon

Akra would probably never be my choice to replace- I did have it on my F10 but it came on the car (M Performance).

I am running Remus on my R8 and now my F90. I get 98% of the sound for 98% less of a price (LOL). I joke, but the price of the unit is retailing for around 3400 without carbon tips and 4300 with. But who pays retail?

Here is my exact car with the Remus Video. Im sure the M8 will sound great too. Remus, to me, has the lower end growl but then fips the tone upwards for a bit of an exotic pitch at higher rpms. Its worth the add on price.

Yes I agree was waiting for BMW MPE to compare but Ben has been good to me and I have a local shop to do all the work. Something to think about.
