Finally got my interior ambient lighting back where I wanted it. To top it all, I've got two tone now. Red White and Blue—perfect.

Looks cool. This is coding only, right?

M8 Gran Coupe

Thinking about this but hate the idea of 20" wheels in NYC. Can these be replaced with 19's?

About what? If tires, stick with 35% profile tires with reasonable pressure and you'll be fine.

In new Orleans purple and green (Plus yellow ) is a always a popular color combo... Mardi Gras!

So is this new red/blue color combo hard coded in, or is it coded in as an option that you can now switch in and out of at any time?

It replaces an existing color option from the ambient colors many. I chose to replace Bronze and Bronze & White.

Hey,

Congrats on the car love the color!

I have a couple of Questions if you don't mind:

Looking to trade my F90 for M8 since you did that, I was wondering what after market parts from the M5 can be use in the M8. (Looks like the eventuri intakes but what about upper and lower downpipes and Exhaust ?

Is Lunch control that much better than the M5?

How is the ride quality compared to the f90?

TIA 👍🏻 I appreciated it.

Downpipe is the same. Exhaust is different.

The intake in my car is the M5 model so that works. I'll defer to Ben below on the downpipes and exhaust setup. The H&R springs I have are for the M550 and fit the Gran Coupe perfectly (Coupe is different, IIRC)--the ride is mostly unchanged as a result of them and the adjustable dampers work as normal.

The lunch control in the M8 is the same as the M5. I got into the habit of getting Ritz crackers around noon in all of my M5s and the M8 is the same. Why would you think I'd eat differently in the new car?

OK, my teasing aside: the fastest and most consistent launching car I've ever had was my 2020 F90C. That car nailed 0-60mph per Dragy in 2.57s repeatedly. On a bad day, it was mid 2.6s. I also had two x F90s and, though the second car was certainly the faster of the two, they both launched perfectly. I have no idea what the trouble with launching is so I'm afraid I'm no help there. The M8 launches just as well although it's only managed a 60 in 2.59s, it's consistently a mid 2.6s car.

Could you explain your exact launch sequence/technique to get these numbers please because I struggle. Thanks.

These numbers are not achievable stock. Is that the root of your question?

No way I would use both green and purple. I wouldn’t get in the car with that color combo. At the moment I am doing purple only as I am bored with the blue (used that in our S-Class forever)...

This just brings me to say that the stock color combos from BMW are extremely lame. Not sure why they don’t have 64-256 colors available per segment.

With coding, you can have them in the ///M setup like I was kinda going for. The red and blue with the white in the middle from the B&W looks fantastic. You can basically re-program any of the existing color options to any two tone combo you want. I did purple and green and the reverse just because it looks so obnoxious it made me laugh.

No, really looking for the technique/modes/style that you use to launch. I know your stuff is modded, so your technique is kinda what I'm interested in. Thanks.

Got it.

Nothing special I'm afraid: I run all 4 tires at about 1psi less than the car's recommended pressure and I use Launch Control from there typically launching within a second of LC activation to keep the RPMs down.

Is LC not working out for you?
