Try driving a car with an engine that he has built and you might choose to reassess that.😉

Nothing better than a sporty station wagon when you have a family and an active Lifestyle (Bike, Ski, Snowboard etc.)

I don't get it why BMW does not provide a solution for this.

I've been BMW for many many years.
I've always wanted a V8 and a wagon in my thirties. I would waive the V8 if there were a G81 M3 wagon. But I think I will break up with BMW and will go for the new Audi RS6 for my next car. Even though the performance will not be on the same level of the F90 M5, but optical wise with the 22 inch wheels, it really makes the M5 look boring and practical wise it can't be beaten.

Have you seen the RS6 Avant?

Looks 10x better and you can actually buy one, in the US even.

BMW doesn't sell wagons in America anymore and won't bring them back. The F31 was the end of an era.

I totally agree. Ignoring performance for a moment and just judging by interior and exterior looks I think the RS6 Avant has everything beat in that department.

I drove an RS6 performance last year, as well as an RS4 and whilst both were fast - obviously the 6 was faster - they both felt very unengaging. Pretty much as the toad tests say. Great traction, but not fun.

They say the same about the RS5 and whilst the C63 S can be a bit of a handful, it gives it character, just like my M3 comp has.

Drive them and see if you agree.

You are not the only one. We have two wagons right now, a 328i and a V90. If you are active, haul gear, have kids or dogs they are the right solution. Planning on buying an RS6 to replace the V90 as well.

This is a beautiful render BTW. The lines transfer really well from GC to Touring.

Honestly what is the point of these renders? The 8 is supposed to be a coupe of some sort by history.

"Look at my 8 series pickup render" "look at my 7 series estate/station wagon render" "look at what I think a 3 series car/plane hybrid would look like"

Some people have too much time on their hands

To everyone lusting after an RS6 - I wonder if this is 3 factors added together. One, a new one has just come out. Two, they haven't been in the states before. Three, they have a history of 4 versions now.

Obviously I haven't driven the new one but I spent a lot of time in the C7 shape and they honestly aren't that great. As people always say they are very inert and feel very heavy but what few people report on is the amount of torque steer that the C6 and C7 generations have. I also found the interior very low rent with plastic everywhere. Compared to the M5 and M6 with full leather the interior on the C7 looked like it was competing against the E39, not the F10/F13 generation.

The C8 finally has an option for a leather dash but I'm sceptical about everything being controlled via touch.

I'm very jealous of the 10 piston brake calipers though

How practical is 22in wheel, like blow out every other week?

8 GC wagon will be good alternative to Panarama Turismo if you ask me.

I don't get everyone's lust over RS6, still prefer E63S wagon

And if I want pure practicality I would go for V90

There is a market for Wagons, but it needs to be G80 platform, IMO.
That is where the manual transmission will be offered.

This car makes no sense at all. Doesn't even look good. But, to each his own I guess.
Does not make sense to you, but an M-wagon would be
Especially with a 6MT. Does a Golf R makes sense? This is the same concept, but larger......

I agree, but I hear it all the time, enthusiasts love Wagons, but the last one to offer a manual was the Cadillac CTS and it has held it's value very well, there is a market. BMW cites lack of Sales on the F31 Sports Wagon, but that was not an enthusiast spec.

I would rather see a M series touring than another X3/5 M.
Totally agree, why not offer a Touring? No desire for a sporty SUV, but I would absolutely buy a Touring if 6MT were available.

Audi sell the RS4 and RS6, and MB, the C63 and E63, so why not BMW?

I opted for the C63 S, because it works for my dog and bikes (and has 510 PS).

I have alway loved the Merc and Audi wagons! I wished they sold them here in the US like they do overseas! However, I also find it hard to "fall" into cars nowadays having some back issues so I do love my SU/AV. I can slide right in and out! If the wagons were as readily available, it would have been a tough choice! I love the E63 and RS6's. I think they look even better than their sedan siblings!
