tire pressure monitor not correcting

I was getting low tire pressure alerts so I added air to the requested amount of 40 lbs up front and 42 in the rear. The BMW monitor still says 35 up front and 37 in the rear after several hundred miles of driving and several days after the fill up.

This is on a 2019 M850i convertible.

Any way to force it to recalibrate?

Yes, always have to do that with my wife's 2017 with iDrive 6. However, so far with the 2020 M850i the two times I had to add air it automatically registered on the first drive without forcing the reset.

Your owners manual should have instructions on how to reset/recalibrate the TPMS after getting a warning to add air or doing a wheel/tire change. The system needs to be reset to establish a new “baseline”.

If you don’t want to pull out the physical manual...you can use the manual uploaded into iDrive...it has a search feature which should help find the info very quickly.

Reset is automatic on 8 series - at least I have no manual reset step on mine.

Exactly my experience as posted vs my wife's 2017 X5 with iDrive 6 that requires the TPM reset process. Sounds like the OP has some sort of issue.
