M8GC is a beast for sure! I'm impressed by the E63s performance-Definitely not a push over. But wait....what are the engineers at Audi doing? That RS6 seems so slow in the performance department!

That's why no American RS6/RS7 will ever remain stock
M8GC is a total beast, completely destroyed the competition. That expensive Panamera is such a disappointment.

Still a bit disappointing that Audi wasn’t trying to match the current performance standard. The Performance models won’t change that.

I was frankly even surprised that the E63s facelift didn’t get a power bump to match up with the M5c.

Those 22" cast rims have massive rotational inertia. With 20" forged lightweight rims, the car may post better times.

Glad I didn't plunk down a deposit on the RS6... Did I miss if they allowed the Panamera to hit the boost button? That allows full electric and ICE power for 20 seconds (different than the LC). I think, out of the 4, I would go with the MB E63S wagon.

Panamera just went through LCI and new for 2021. I think Porsche was sick of getting destroyed and revamped the lineup. Eager to see the battle of the LCI's

2021 M5 comp, E63, Panamera Turbo and M8
Comp (not LCI)

The M8 is one fast car!

That Porsche has got to be one of the best looking cars out there currently. And these drag races are so silly. Who cares.

Impressive race, although from the second roll BMW could use a bit of help in being a bit quicker in response compared to the MB and Porsche which were quicker.

As for me, I'd probably take the Porsche in its refreshed GTS/Turbo form, the 8GC is beautiful, but I love a wagon, especially the look of the Panny wagon, though knowing its lack of practicality I'd go for an E63S as the best all rounder. As for the Audi, it sure is beautiful, hopefully they'll get their performance numbers up now that the entire class is using what use to be their secret weapon (AWD).

Where do you see this? I see Mat in the BMW taking the lead immediately after the launch.

The roll race in sports mode (7:12), the Panny and AMG passed the 8 and RS6 when in 3rd gear from a roll. I rephrased my original post, it wasn't the dual clutch but throttle response that delayed it, just edited it to reflect that.

At least in Canada, RS6 is substantially cheaper compared to M8. More comparable to M850 really.

That's what initially got me looking at BMW 20 years ago. Audi never had 5 star motors engines - always slightly slower, more benign engines. I love the look of the RS6 Avant though.

Drag races like this mattered when cars were much slower

These cars are ALL way too fast already most people will never use them as the video shows in any regular way.

It doesn't really matter who is 1st or 4th.
These people just make videos to make $$

If you think Audi sit around racing their prototype against other cars you'd be mistaken lol.

To be fair, 0-60 and 1/4 mile times are not the big concern for Audi. They are more focused on the total package when they engineer their vehicles, and they do it very well.

Yes, the M8 is a total beast.

I also think that VW intentionally sets the performance output of the Audi RS lower to avoid direct competition with their Porsche counterparts.

We have a RS6 Avant on order for my wife. When it arrives will give you all a real comparison vs the M8. But in general BMW and MB are usually faster with more power and aggressive trans setups.

In totally agree. Case and point: I just blindly got an X4M thinking it would be great to drive a 500hp little suv but the fact is the whole thing is designed for journalist testing/ car magazines. In real life it has no low end torque and struggles in day to day use. My F90 M5 was better at representing itself honestly but it seems its only a matter of time until the "performance" badges all become a "story" built for marketing hype and not anything to really enjoy on a day to day basis.

Even my 992 C4S feels like they pushed a bit too much to make numbers... but at least it has a fun dual clutch ZF (PDK) not that ZF 8HP stuff which is in seemingly everything with a 6TT or V8TT these days...
