Switched out and got two new rides this week.

Sounds a bit extravagant - but it certainly wasn't - just a financial move - lower monthly payments on both and first 90 days no payment on both.

Couldn't pass up that financial incentive.

Also - since one had A/C unit totally failed/broken right as I drove it off the showroom floor (now fixed one week later), they are also paying my first payment when it's due in 90 days.

I would not have selected/ordered the interior colors - but I do like them. (These both just came off the boat in the last few weeks).

The droptop is Taruma Brown inside and the Gran Coupe is Midrand Beige.

I am a bit worried about taking care of the frozen bluestone metallic on the GC and keeping it looking sharp.

Please send more pics of the frozen blue I just ordered it. Is it hard to maintain?

Just got it a few days ago so I don't know. But I know that there's all sorts of things you cannot use on it.

I love the color.

It shows off the contours of the M8.

Wow! A great pair. Do you have CCB on both or just the GC?

LOVE the interiors.....I wanted tan so bad in my M5 but couldn't find one with the exterior color I wanted and I didn't want to wait to have one made so I took another stupid boring black interior.

Can you take the frozen bluestone to a regular car wash or does it need a specific wash?

You must hand do it. Or it will be literally ruined.

Beautiful. Love the frozen and the GC (I had a M850i for 2 months) and hope the maintenance isn't huge. Congrats and enjoy.

Wow, you are all in on the 8's. Congrats (again) on your Gran Coupe as well!
Love to hear your feedback on how they perform and if you detect any differences due to weight, brakes, etc.

Are these riding alongside the M760 & i8 or did they replace them?

Thanks!

The two 8's just replaced the M760 and i8.

I will tell you - as you know, there's a lot being said about the 8's, some good, and of course, some not so good.

Imho, these cars rock!

They are truly powerful beasts. Serious power and split-second responsiveness, awesome braking, and numerous power choices/options.

And - let's be honest - they look absolutely amazing. From every angle. Especially the lines on the GC.

Sure - there are a couple of details BMW could potential 'fix' - the bmw dashboard needs dramatic updating (it should be one huge glass cockpit), steering wheel desperately needs a refresh, and the front seats are not the best (especially the manual thigh support). But I am being nit picky. But people should be for that price point.

I really love both the GC and droptop. Can't wait to actually take them both out for real drives vs. just going from the dealership to the garage in my home.

You can put the ppf and then ceramic it; and then run it through a touch less, brushless, railless automatic car wash.

But you're better off hand washing all the time. Find a good mobile detailer and have them come to your home or office once or twice a month.

As my long-suffering wife would confirm, I've had WAY too many cars.

But I've never received as many unsolicited compliments, admiring questions, over-the-shoulder glances, double takes and the like as I've received for the 8 - especially given the limited opportunities I've had recently to drive it.

I can second this. Compared to my 991 TT, which got a fair number of looks and nice comments, I also have gotten an amazing number of comments and long looks when I drive the M8. I had a couple of people run over in a parking lot to ask me if this was really an M8.

However, since the OP had an i8, I suspect he is used to the attention.

Time for some new springs--they sit so high stock.

Lovely color! // almost as nice as frozen dark silver

Agreed, the same here. It's unique; most don't know what it is at all.
