Love Taycan's fake sound. Straight from the 90's SciFi movies!

Nice comparison.
I will pick the M8, since after full 4x20 minutes track day I will make it home in less time than the Taycan.

The Taycan's tires howled in protest at even the slightest turn....every single time.

I drove the Taycan Turbo...not the S and not on the track, but it totally reset my perception of "fast".

For the ///M Boat to hang with it dead even...well I'll give bmw the credit they're due

It felt like the M8 was driven at 9/10ths, and the Taycan at 10/10ths. He threw it into the first two corners at higher speed than the M8... of course that's purely my subjective opinion, so it would be interesting to see multiple laps. Either way, not much in it, so the lighter car will eventually have less brake fade, but perhaps the Taycan will compensate with regen...
interesting!
Thanks for the video!

I noticed the sound difference as well. SO much so that I thought gee did they use a different camera and microphone? It was night and day. Wild.

Yeah it's actually pretty sad for the price point.

No way I'd consider it without it being closer to 300 miles of range.

The Taycan is the boat here -- 5100 lb curb weight vs the 4480 lbs curb weight of the M8.

I've tried really hard to get into the electric vehicle stuff but they just have no soul...maybe it's from years as a golfer driving electric carts listening to the whining motor's hum, but electric vehicles leave me wanting much more of an experience like those of their fossil fueled alternatives.

You take the Taycan Turbo S and trade it in for an M8 and an X3.

Not totally relevant on BMW forum but real life testing seems to show the Tycan almost matches the Tesla model S ... Porsche's miles are real life miles with real life driving as opposed to no a/c, slow on a flat surface I guess...

https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews...tesla-model-s/

The results were far closer than we expected: 209 miles for the Taycan, and 222 for the Model S.

Well the EPA range is severely underrated. And as good as the Turbo S is in the twisties, let's not forget it also runs a 2.5 sec 0-60 , and 10.5 sec qtr mile at 130mph!, and gets 90mpge.

Nice video.

The Taycan is stupid fast for its weight, and Porsche did a great job making it stable even when it is not a track car.

The M8, I have wanted to see the driver exit the corners more aggressively, like the AWD car it is!
