I need to get ours out and drive it. I'm not sure what they did differently but the sound is an immense upgrade. it sounds like a damn AMG car.

Ya, I was very impressed by the sound of the exhaust on this car. It sounded better than the stock exhaust on the new M5.

I was never satisfied with any ///M exhaust
But it's easy fix, just need to spend a penny or two. Lol

Is Joe cruising around Tenerife? What a neat review! The exhaust note sounds great for a stock setup.

The best part of driving sports car besides the handling and power is to hear some noise.
I am not driving minivan. Lol

Or paying that much money just to dump more money into making the car sound good. The 8 series exhaust is gonna piss off a lot of M5 owners. Because from factory, their exhaust tone is inferior compared to a non M car.

Lol
I own F90M5 and it doesn't bother me a bit.
Why? Because even that exhaust it's not enough for me.
I changed exhaust, mid pipes, lower down pipes and next week intake is coming
Now we are talking proper noise

You missed the point. The point is the fact that you just dumped a bunch of money to do that when a car like that should come with an aggressive exhaust from the factory.

I did understand you, and I agree with that.
Bmw also adds sports exhaust on CP and this is not even enough for most people( obviously better then stock ) they should go straight to performance exhaust.
Might as well do it right!!!

That's exactly what I'm saying. They need to stop jerking off with these stupid little bumps in performance or exhaust tones. Just give it to us once and do it right the first time.

I agree, AMG definitely has the right formula as far as factory exhaust systems are concerned. It seems BMW can't help but milk every last penny out of M owners...

I mean you have to spend 5k just to make an M4 sound how it should from the factory... Why not subsidize this so everyone wins instead of making us buy it aftermarket?

Thanks to crossbank manifolds... however that is not an excuse for the pathetic stock M exhaust systems.

Nothing catless downpipes, res delete, muffler delete, secondary cat deletes can't fix! All for under ~2k extra..
I'm just really hoping the M8 has the concept exhaust tips!

But as the saying goes, boats are not a good investment

We’ve owned several M cars (M6, X5M, and X6M) and have never been overly impressed with the exhaust sound. We’ve also owned a couple of AMG vehicles which have great exhaust sounds. It’s likely I’ll buy the M8 when it becomes available, but I may not because the 850i is a great driving and sounding car.
