Seems like more of a competitor to the M8 now. 577hp V8, AWD, 1900kg, and ~15cm shorter than the M8

I really used to love Mercs, but recently the whole bubble thing is just going too far off the rails for me. But I am super happy their V8's are coming back.

all I see is an SL63 coupe--- low on hp and heavier still

We all know how the SL is faring (latest version)--- its bad bad bad.

Agree with Vic It needs more power
U can not give it the sl63 power
If they up the power more then the sl63 i will get one to replace my M8 otherwise it is not worth it and will go for the new M5

So this is real and honestly it looks better than the SL as they have fixed the rear. I also love the new rims and the 295 front tire set up. I guess I could tune it

The entire outside uses different panels vs the SL sans the doors.

Not sure yet...

I havent had an AMG since 2018 but it is/was the same engine but the DME probably has evolved a few times over. It does seem based on my tuning life with AMG that the DME's there are much easier to crack than here with BMW.

Agreed much better looking than the SL and now an AMG I'd truly consider. I'm not a tuner like the rest of the brethren here on the forum that are so not much of a consideration if the ECU/DME is locked for me. Rather the consideration is if it will be nose bleed pricing and damn I want the carbon fiber aero package if I get one and guessing that's an easy $5K option.

Just was playing around with the Merc configurator and was shocked even the 2023 4-door GT 63 coupe still can't be configured online. So fell back and punted to the GT 53 which can be built online.

HUD is $1100, augmented 3D NAV $350, high-end 3D sound $4550 (B&W a bargain), performance exhaust $1850, and Drivers assistance $1950. No carbon package but likely whatever price for it will be at least $2K lower than the new GT due to the wing, etc. Other options I'd consider but all <$1k each so just rounding factors in the overall price vs the bigger ticket items.

Hopefully someone here on the forum gets their hands on the build/pricing sheets when eventually leaked and can rehydrate the thread and share as guessing months out from now. I'd join a Merc forum to try and grab them myself when leaked but to lazy to do so given it's a consideration vs anything on the true short list for the next coupe.

Sl did not sell well here in the usa and people were getting 30k off on the 2023
I was tempted but did not like the shape of the car

Doesn't look anywhere as nice as M8. Looks like a smushed egg from my lunch box in grade school. At least it doesn't have the usual Yacht stripes Mercedes very often have. God I hate that striped look they use.
It does have a cover over the gauge screen. I like that part. This trend to long uncovered screen makes me puke....lol

I have a feeling an “S” variant with 630hp will soon follow. They did the same 577hp for the base 4 door “coupe” AMG GT63. The AMG GT63 S has 630 hp.

This car looks delicious. If it was around in 2020, I would have gotten it instead of the 8 series - or at least I would have been giving it a long hard look, depending on price.

An S, or R, or Pro or Black….lots of ways for MB to up the HP/performance and move it even more upscale.
