Ran both these sizes on stock wheels with no problem.

Im currently on 325/30/20 rear tires on 12 inch wheels.

No cons.
Pro's is; I got one bad ass wide set of rubbers.

Wider patch you will get but you will also have tire overlap... there are optimal size ranges for 10.5 rears and 315 might be too wide. But yes it can and has been done.

While no one likes a stretched tire; we also dont want excess sidewall either as that part of the tire is not built for performance.

Does anyone have a pic of a 305/35/20 on the stock rims?

When I put the summers back on I'm going to replace the tires. Was thinking 285 front / 295 rear, but if the 305's will fit without poking...

Heres a 305 on a stock wheel. There's no "tire overlap" or "poke". If anything, it's just a 1/4 inch inside from being flush to the fender.
the rest of the pics are the 305's on my car and one final showing going from a 305 to a 325. If you want to see the 325 on the car let me know. Also, the 325 will not fit on the standard stock wheel.

Awesome, thank you! Your wheels are quite a bit different than mine. Mine are below.

Were yours an OEM option in '22? Assume they are still 10.5"?

Car looks great btw!

I assume there are specific limits for tire sizes in the US (depending on the stock wheel); at least this is the case here in Europe. Am I correct or can you just install whatever size you like over there?

No, those wheels I ordered from IND. Then I had them powder coated black. But Yes, they are factory specs BMW wheels and identically replaced the wheels that came with the car (which are the ones you have). So yes 10.5 was the rear wheel.

No, we can't just randomly upsize the tire to whatever we want without taking the wheel specs in to consideration. So there are limits aside from "will it fit under the fender" lol

For instance. Most 305 tires will only fit a max wheel of 10.5 inch, but there are some exceptions for sure.

Not too mention a good shop that knows what they are doing will not fit certain sizes that are out of spec for wheels due to their safety policies.

Gotcha, appreciate it. I really like the look of the 305's so would likely go that direction. If you have a pic of the 325's on the 10.5 rims would be curious to see it.

Btw, where did you get the studs to hang the wheels on the rotors?

I'll send a pic later of the 325's, but those had to go to an after market wheel at 11 inch (Vosen's).

Those wheel hanger/studs came from IND-Distribution . They are a godsend if you change your own. I was skeptical at first but after first use I was sold! Make sure you get the correct threading size. it's the larger one on their website.

Appreciate it. No worries on the pics. I'm going to stick with the factory 10.5" wheels so I think the 305 is the right way to go.

Definitely going to order the studs, thanks!

Did you mean 12" here, like your previous post?

And, yes please. We would like to see a pic of those bad boy 325s on the 12 inch wheels (or 11", whatever)

Yeah sorry that was a typo. They are 11 inch rear.
20 X 10 +13 Deep (FRONT)
20 X 11 +30 Super Deep (REAR)

So, with this set up on my car it's as wide as you can go with no poke and/or rub issues. I'm sure you could play with different offsets but this worked for the look I wanted. You can see it pushed the entire wheel and tire out but not beyond the fender. It actually made it appear as though I lowered it with a spring kit because it filled that gap on the top side of the tire to fender. It is also maxed out on the inside to where there is about 3/8 inch from the sidewall to the spring for clearance.

Is that cup 2? If yes which is better cup2 or sport 4?

From what I understood is 305/35/20 will work just perfect with stock wheels?

Yes, I have the Cup 2's. They are great for where I live (Hawaii) because the roads are 99% dry here - hardly ever rains. I posted in another thread "Tires Tires" and addressed this issue with the Cups'
I will be switching to the Pilot Sport 4's as soon as I move. The Cup's suck ass on wet roads.

They are soft. Super soft, so the grip is tremendous for a street legal tire. But don't expect them to last long. 3-5K miles will show serious wear. I didn't mind the wear factor bc my car is not a heavily used or daily commuter. Plus I loved the look of that extra wide outside tread design.

To answer your question on the 305's. Yes, not a problem at all.

We've been talking about the Rears, but what about the fronts? Can I safely assume the max width on the stock front wheels is a 295?

I did a 285 on stock wheel and got an ever so slight rub on inner fender well plastic. It was so minute that it actually left a scuff and then went away after a week or so. Ended up using a 5 mm spacer just to be sure to get the wheel out a little bit more.

Now my current after market wheel up front is a +13 offset with 285's and no issues and no spacers either.

That's great to know. So I think I'll go 305/35/20 rear and 285/35/20 fronts based on your feedback - really appreciate it!

Btw, does iDrive let you tell it the new size of the tires?

When I put my winters on I had to enter the sizes of the new tires but it was pre-populated with the correct sizing (since they were BMW winters I assume). Just curious if it allows you to modify it?
