335i vs mustang GT

i thought it was a roush because it had a body kit and lowered..i didnt get any look at the back..so idk..im pretty sure a roush would have burned me right?
yeah i kno everyone is going to say street racing is for teenagers.. but 17 so w.e.
i was on my way home and i sped past him and i was thinking to myself.. thats a pretty nice car.. it was black with big rims and a nice exhaust.. looked pretty good at night. then we came to a redlight.. no1 was around.. he revved his engine so i figured he wanted to race.. so i took off all traction control..then the light turned green and i let it rip. i beat him off the line and kept pulling on him.. i was in front about three car lengths wen i decided to hit my break.. and that was around 80 or 90mph.. my car is AT. no break torqing because when i just floor it my car peels out..

thought some of you would like to hear it..

we should have a race section so for anyone that wants to talk/read about it, they can go there and do so

I think a Rousch Mustang would have ripped into you, but then again, they are purely just sports cars... not nearly as refined as our E92... and to boot, they are really only good at straightline, put your E92 on a curvy track and you own him.

A GT should be a good match, but you should win 9 of 10 (assuming you have good driving skills).

Hope next time you do it at a track though hehe

Man, I love the new GT's. They are just a great car for the money.

I could have been driving one right now. Opted for the 335i, of course.

The Roush's come in stages right? Stage 1 being purely cosmetic. And the price they charge for those kits are outrageous. Highway robbery.

the Rousch Mustang has a completely new suspension that isn't prehistoric so it would be a fight!

GJ with the mustang kill. the new one is all looks and no bark . i love the new retro look but the performance is below what it looks like it can be

As I was waiting on the 335i I started poking around the 'bay to see what people had for sale. I came across an '06 S281 Supercharged Saleen. It was beatuiful.

I came sp close to buying the California Speacial before picking my 335i. I was going to pick it up at the port. Did everything but sign the agreement. Drove the GT for a week and was sold until I got a call from a BMW rep. Drove the 335i from Friedberg to Frankfurt ans was sold. Never looked back except to get my deposit from the ford dealer. IMO my 335i would take down the GT. PLus all the extras in the BWM makes it a no thought needed in wich car to choose.
Now whenever we see a Mustang my wife says, "And you wanted to get a GT".

Supercharged 5.4L 500HP 480 lb-ft..... I don't think you have much of a chance in a straight line if the other driver knows how to put all the torque to good use without loosing traction. You need an M5, M6, or AMG to race him.

Yeah but it weighs 4000+ lbs.

A Proceed/Exhaust should make you close until things are up into the triple digit range. Of course, similar mods to the GT500 will leave you well behind.

One of the latest Top Gear episodes compared the Shelby to a Roush Mustang. The Shelby was fast in a straight line but an absolute dog on the track. It has essentially the same ancient suspension as the regular Mustang. They also dyno'd it and found it was more like 440 hp.

They loved the Roush, though. Real suspension, less power than the Shelby but you can actually use it.

My last car was an '05 GT with some mods - 4.10 gears, JLT intake, custom tune, Borla exhaust, etc. The car made great sounds, was a blast to drive and was very quick through the first two gears (manual). Once in 3rd it seemed to run out of steam a bit. Overall, I think modded it was a good run for a stock 335. Now that I'm Proceded I'm just itching to find one who will run me. My car does NOT run out of steam in any gear !

Any no, not all Roush Mustangs are blown. Some just have the dress up kit, wheels, exhaust and other zero HP options.

Weight on the GT and 335 is about the same. 0-60 would be close given equal drivers. Beyond that my money is on the 335 every time.

Here's a pic of my GT right before I sold it........
