I don't remember the internet becoming an essay now? Are you going to be my teacher now? Don't you have better things to do than to pick on someones grammar?

Btw, it is "Where are you from?"

But last year during the fall/winter, they were discounting 08 STI's like a mother, like 7k off sticker because so many were sitting around lots. When I looked in August, they were asking 39k for a fully loaded one, which was what I paid for my 135 and there was no way I was paying almost 40k for an STI, when my last one cost low 30's.

I was actually offer $6K off one that was listed at $41K Nav/BBS and other accessory, After the test drive I just didnt feel right for me.

why is it "for" BMW?

plenty of companies (very expensive car companies) are copying the LED strips.

that's what car companies do, and that's what people want.

nothing wrong with it.

I don't know let's see what would be required to mod a WRX:

1. Wide body conversion
2. 18" wheels
3. 6 speed transmission w/ Dccd
4. Front and rear LSD
5. New shocks, struts and springs
6. New rear suspension misc. components
7. stiffer anti sway bars front and rear.
8. Hid headlights.
9. Upgrade engine components
10. Various interior mods.

Some of those are subjective, but I would venture to guess that items 1, 2 & 3 would take care of the $10K.

If tracking or eventual significant power mods are not your concern, then yes, the WRX is the better deal.

Agreed on the halos, i also do not like that single muffler.

IMO the sti looks good with a drop and a clean exhaust, everything else is just bonus.

Just went from a 335i to an 09 STI, for practicality purposes, awd & hatch. I was actually extremely surprised at how much I enjoy driving it everyday even more so than the 335i. The looks were something i seriously disliked in the beginning but all of subaru's cars always takes awhile grow on you and now i love the body style.

Its just extremely difficult to fight off the mod bug, I will be back to bmw when i do it'll be an M3

Cobb stage 2 is inevitable...it's such an easy 300-315whp. Hell, with the 07+ engines, it's actually safer to get a custom tune because the stock tune was blowing up engines. With a good tune you'll be able to run 350whp for over 100k miles on that car. I have over 40k miles of 380whp on my 05...oh and still have the stock clutch.

How does it compare comfort and noise-wise (essentially, daily-driving wise) to the 335i?

As for the featured car on this thread... I'm not into the "hella flush" look. Wheels look too big for the car.

I really don't think the WRX requires all that to be a faster car. Hid headlights add like what 10hp? Interior mods 25 hp? new wheels = 100 hp??? wide body = ???
my point was that it didn't justify the 10k difference to have a car that was virtually the same speed albeit a loss of some track performance which would easily be taken care of by the 10k and have some left over.

someone had a really good break down on why it is actually cheaper to get the STi if you want a car that kicks it at the track. a lot of under the hood/tranny/suspension stuff that really is well above what you get on the WRX. with that said, it was only worth it if you were really going to track it quite a bit.

Congrats! You're not the only one I know that traded in their for STi. RobSTI (he's here ocassionally) did just that.

For those of you who have not driven WRX/STi, you have no fscking clue what you're talking about.

Be humble, respect others no matter what they drive and enjoy your ride!
