Damn, citizens on patrol! That was crazy. So much to be said about this but as a motorcyclist myself, I couldn't help but think what if that Merc was dumping fluids all over the road while he was following.

Noticed that the guy in the LR Disco also followed him. Certainly the tortoise and the hare.

No kidding ... it was definitely shedding all sorts of solid bits. You could see them bouncing up from and strewn all over the road as they came off the Merc.

Kudos to the rider. I just don't understand how that dude could have possibly thought he'd escape all the mayhem he caused in THAT car unless he was high as a kite, it was stolen, or both.

That cop was remarkably chill considering everything that just went on. Perhaps he wasn't privy to the situation, but boy was he calm.

If I was going to argue the hit & run case to a jury, this would be my approach.

The guy in the Prius was threatening the MB driver, even though there was a guy who was apparently a community service officer standing just a few feet away. I can see how someone in that situation might want to get to safety.

Then a squid on a GSXR 750, with cell phone and GoPro mounts, but no protective gear, gives chase, driving very recklessly to catch up, almost getting creamed passing an SUV on the right. I would think the guy was nuts. He seemed surprised that the CHP officer making a traffic stop on the freeway thought he was crazy, which demonstrates his inability to look at his actions from a third party perspective.

The guy on the bike exacerbated the situation by turning it into a chase. He already had the license plate number and should have turned it over to the police. Instead, he added to the MB driver's concern for his safety and put countless other innocent bystanders at risk, too.

After your loss and the driver's conviction, everyone would agree you mounted the best defense you could.

You never know the outcome. I just won a felony road rage case where the client was charged with swerving into a motorcyclist who almost crashed... and the main prosecution witness was a superior court judge who was following and saw the whole thing, including the traffic light altercation that started it.

Well, being a squid, he was probably going to break all of those road rules on his drive anyway

Glad they caught this guy. On another note, I don't know why that other guy got all angry and aggressive towards the Merc driver. If some guy came yelling at me after an accident like that, I might just leave and call the police and tell them I left because I felt physically threatened. Get the info, get the insurance, keep your mouth shut, take pictures then leave. There is no need to interact any more with the other driver. If you feel like they are a danger, call the police and press charges. No need to turn a car accident into assault. Then again, if someone hit me recklessly like that and my loved one got hurt or killed I might lose my shit and go berserk.

At the end of the chase... when the MB driver gets out of his car and he kept putting his hands in his pockets... all I could think of was what IF he has a gun. This video would have ended very differently. The cop was taking things way too chill. I would have been more aggressive in that arrest if I were a cop.

This..

Honestly, I do feel the motorcyclist endangered MANY more innocent folks by chasing. I would have felt terrible if the dbag in the Merc would have hit more people trying to evade the motorcycle.

course the drunk driver may have hit way more people if he didn't feel like someone was following him - he may have tried to speed home. further, he probably wouldn't get charged with drunk driving, rather leaving the scene of an accident, and then maybe the next night he kills someone.

As a society we have to choose which is worse: getting the bad guys off the street or allowing them to get away.

I'm in favor of accountability.
