The track is new for me, but I went with an advanced coaching so was reasonably up to speed in the end of the day. Had A LOT of fun as this the track is fast-paced, has quite a few blind corners, looong curves, elevation changes, ~140 mph at the main straight and multiple turns at 80+ mph.

Great job! I'm a Corvette fan but that said truly appreciated the views of you passing them by with your M8C.

Alright. After the two track sessions, I am changing my front tires with the total mileage being 1300. The tread has totally degraded on the sides, you can tell that although you don't feel it, it is a heavy car and it demands a lot from its tires while braking/cornering. I have also asked my dealer to add more negative camber, especially on the front.

I went with P4S again, as I had a good experience with them back with my previous M4. Honestly I haven't heard that P Zeros are better for the track, is that what you are saying?

I might switch to RE71R after this set wears out. RE71R, which I also tried back with the M4, are nice for the track (when warmed up properly), long-lasting, but have less grip & worse noise level for the road.

If you run PS4S at the track, you need to take breaks after at most 10 minutes of driving. The tires have decent grip for a few minutes but overheat very badly after and at that point, you are just sliding around and burning the tread unevenly.

Superjackons, yup, I know, that's the downside of P4S' good capabilities for both R&T. Any reasonable alternatives? I am ready to try new stuff, the new P4S won't last more than 2 track days anyways.

A dual purpose tire that has caught my attention recently is the Bridgestone s007a. It is not as race-focused and loud as RE71R but still considered more race focused than PS4S. It should wear much more evenly than the PS4S due to stiffer sidewall and have about equal dry grip according to most forum discussions. They are also cheaper than the ps4s by quite a bit.
One thing I also noticed is that the M850i with these tires in 245/275 setup ran a faster time than the M5 on 275/285 tires, at same track with same driver Randy Pobst. That shows the tires are at least grippier than the P Zero on the M5!

BTW M8C setup is also 275 front, 285 rear. I am wondering if we can run square setup, i.e. 285/285.

Yes 285/285 will work on your stock rims but I only recommend using 285 on your front 20x9.5 rims if the tire has a stiffer sidewall like RE71R or Sport Cup 2 to prevent the tire from rolling on its side when you corner hard.

Sport Cup 2, NT01, R888R are all available in 285/35r20, I'd look to run a set of those for the track.
