BMX bike recommendation

Anyone a BMX rider? And can you tell me which bike to get?

I'm just tired of going to the gym and after decades of running I need a change.

Years ago was heavily into road riding and did some mountain biking.

I'm an older guy so I want a nice BMX - any recommendations?

I used to film bmx professionally for Lotek, Mosh, Fit and S&M bikes.

If your an older guy and you dont want a bike that is going to break your back, S&M have a new 22" system coming out. it essentaily looks like a 20" but has a little bit of the comfort that a 24" has.

If you just want a simple 20" complete bike, fitbikeco has solid completes.

Just saw this today. I ride a Subrosa. Love the bike, lots of jam for mid level pricing. Wethepeople and Fit are my other go to companies.

My brother's and I all had Haro's growing up (we're all in our early to late 20's by now). Had them each for about 8 years and held up wonderfully to abuse. However, they weren't as light as most others, and are on the cheaper side.

Man, Haro's are tanks! That was the first real BMX I got, think I had it for 10+ years. But because it was a tank, it weighed the same and some parts didn't hold up to repeated abuse.

I need to conserve my knees from too much running - not worried all that much about weight just going for a moderate price.
Near where I live a road bike rider was killed in a hit-and-run. I'm now more inclined to get the BMX.

Could probably get a Haro for as little as $125, I paid about $1000CDN for my Subrosa. All depends what you're comfortable paying for a bike.

those bikes are long discontinued and are extremely heavy tanks.

OP, go with a fit complete.

I raced way back in the day. My first race bike was a webco. I then went to 20 redline and 24 Robinson cruiser. I then went go 20 hutch and basset cruiser. I had a great time racing.

I still BMX heavily. I am too old for this and should quit as my bones break too easily but what the hell. If you are riding around for fitness and not doing a bunch of tricks, ramps when looking for a bike make sure the head tube angle is around 74 to 74.5 degrees. Most BMX these days generally have 75 degrees head angle which makes them twitchy and difficult if to control. Go to danscomp.com and check complete bike section. Lots of choice.

Good info on the head angle - the bikes I tested were twitchy -
