Americana Concours D'Elegance

Not directly M3-related, but I thought people might enjoy some of these pictures...

The annual Americana Concours D'Elegance was held today at the Americana Manhasset on Long Island. Pretty amazing collection of cars that come out for display each year. In addition to the usual Enzos, 458 Italias, Daytonas, 275 GTBs, Gallardos, etc., there were a few unique and interesting cars. Surprises included the new McLaren sitting next to a naked chassis showing all the intricate and beautiful structure and suspension work, a Lamborghini Reventon, a 1971 Brabham F1 car with its inboard disc brakes, a new Fisker Karma sexy hybrid, two Veyrons (one of which was not on display, but just driven to the event by a spectator, and was seen sitting parked in the back lot with the riff-raff--you've got to love the North Shore of Long Island!), a Bertone Mantide (funky Italian-reskinned Corvette ZR1), and a new SSC mid-engine exotic designed by Jason Castriota. Castriota, formerly of Pininfarina, Bertone, and now Saab, was there and described the car's aerodynamics to me. Very approachable, nice guy. Enjoy the photos. I'd highly recommend anyone in the NY/NJ/CT area to attend the show each October. Free and definitely worth it.

Some fine tail there.

Seen the Veyron, Fisker and McLaren in person. They are definitely supercars.

Nice pics, I was there as well and it was a great turnout as always. The Mclaren was stunning in person as was the Fisker. Looking forward to next year already.

If the Lambo in the pictures is the one you are referring to as the Reventon, is that actually the new Lambo Aventador? It's gorgeous.

I made the wire/cable that supplies the power from the batteries to the wheels a few years ago. they tried many different types and decided on a group of 5mm wire wrapped together and coated with a special compound that is fire/melt/wear and water proof it costs $16 a foot to make

I think the aventador only comes in one color but I could be wrong either way very sexy car from lambo once again

The Reventon comes in only one color. The car in the picture is an Aventador. The Aventador comes in many colors.

Looks like the Zenvo still hasn't caught on in the U.S. Lambos and Bugattis are a dime a dozen.
