No sympathy for dumb sons of bitches who put others in danger. On the other hand, this is far from the "worst" and most gruesome thing I have seen on the internet or in person.

I'm really not up to snuff on my politics, so don't judge me (I'm admitting to my ignorance). But shouldn't there be some sort of authorities to prevent things like this from happening right on the streets where other civilians can get hurt?

What amazes me is that it appears to be a spectator sport. I'm not sure which group's sanity I question more, the ones "controlling" the vehicles or the people standing on the side of the road with nearly out of control cars flying by at high speed.

Don't worry, it's all ok because they put their hazard lights on...

Maybe we need to create a new urban dictionary word to describe the level of stupidity. Dumbass is an insult to dumbasses everywhere.

Any suggestions?

Go to youtube and there are many more videos. This isn't just a one-time, crazy stunt. These idiots do it regularly - drifting normal cars with no safety equipment of any kind on an open, public road with lots of equally stupid spectators lining the route. Not only will you see people literally be thrown out of vehicles, but even more people being hit by out of control cars. Saudi Arabia has the highest accident fatality rate in the world and it's getting worse. It's almost like a rising suicide rate.

This is very common in Saudi Arabia.

I tend to travel to KSA (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia) every few months on work and have witnessed these get togethers a few times.

The level of driving there is atrocious and incredibly stupid.

We have been nudged while doing over 60mph by Saudis who wanted to pass us on a single lane road.

They think nothing of taking a U turn across a 4 lane highway when they are driving in the slowest lane.

And get this - accidents are judged by % of fault (which determines the insurance payout). For example if you are an expat and you get rear ended (while stationary) you will still be judged as upto 25% at fault. Why? Because you are an expat and the accident wouldn't have happened if you stayed in your own country. That's Saudi Logic.

Anyway, these things happen on a regular basis because:

- The crazy segregation of men and women - damn near impossible to meet a woman outside your family.
- There is nothing to do in KSA - no movie theatres, no pool/video game halls (for under 18s), no outdoor activities, no loud music allowed, no having fun in public.... etc etc
- no respect for human life - even their own.

This combined with their shitty education and fundie theocracy creates this crazy vibe of oppression and sadness in that country.

p.s: No need to feel sad for them. They are not the same as You and I. The general public are a bunch of fundies too, who justify slavery, slaughter of non-muslims and gays and oppression of women.

*Holy crap*!! What I found really surprising was the large number of drift videos (and corresponding terrible accidents) from that region. Some have in-car camera footage, too, with the drivers having a ball. So many of the vids have ejections, dudes sitting halfway out the window when they hit another car, etc.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out this is pure recipe for disaster.

Drifting/sliding around school buses?? My goodness!
