While, I have not driven this car... I actually do believe this... Times have changed massively and the specs on this car are insane... a $38k well equipped price that gets u a 455HP V8 from the C7 as well as a 'ring tuned suspension with incredible weight savings from the predecessor... The straighline specs are comparable to The m3/ m4... in the past, I would not have believed this and perhaps even scoffed at something like this, but it looks like, it is now Europe and the rest of the world that needs to significantly step up... especially if they are going to charge a premium... I still think the the styling of this car is butt ugly but that is purely subjective, I think the C63 is right there with it on that point.

Has GM done anything to improve the interior? The one turn-off I have always had with respect to American cars is the design of the interior and the low quality materials used.

Camaro SS is more comparable to the Mustang GT. We'll have to wait for the next Z28 or 1LE, for a direct comparison.

The 2SS is $48,030 fully loaded. What's the Camaro forum that's the equivalent of Bimmerpost?

Depends... is a C7 interior good in your opinion?

Imho, it's good but it's definitely not worth writing about. And it's not as much the low rent materials as much as the corny design.

Mostly in your and other people's heads these days. I wish my 428 had some of the features my 2010 Camaro did, especially the big digital speedo in between the analog instruments and the better steering-wheel controls, although it does have many of the same features, like double-pull door handles, frameless windows that come down just a hair when you open/close, heated seats worked great, controls were great, short throw shifter/trans miles ahead, etc.

We are entering times where affordable cars are getting unaffordable car performance. kind of annoying how decent performance is not longer exclusive thing.

in the end i use to drive a camaro. really wont ever go back.

Sounds like these will be some really fun/reliable track cars in 2-3 years after some depreciation. Good times.

I have nothing against Camaro but this looks like Toys r Us version. Are you guys blind? Horrendous interior design!!

Kudos for the steering, chassis and drivetrain but what about brakes and cooling? Will it last more than 50K mi? Look at the cheap plastic everywhere! Can you see anything through those tiny windows? Will it survive a few days on track?

When I check out vehicles I look under the skin, design and build quality.

Did you even read the review? Look at what it was up against. They were slobbering drool on the car is what I read.
It's a 40 something k great performer it seems. I don't think chevys goal was to compete with Alfredo regarding design either.

With those wheel/tire sizes it's gonna be an expensive track car. Hopefully you'll be able to downsize to at least 18s. I like these cars but dropping $1400 on some tires for you track car is gonna hurt. It's the same reason I cant bring myself to put money down on the new Focus RS, even though it's looking like an almost a perfect car to me.

Thank you. American cars have never been on my radar. Never even a test drive.

its not always about the interior of a car. IMO, the 6th gen camaro interior is far better than the 5th gen. For instance, a C5 Z06 is a beast of a car on and off the track (1/4 mile and road course) but its interior is awful.

All car companies use low quality stuff and plastic pieces, some just more than others.

The interior stuff cracks me up. It's a 40-50k vehicle with some stout reviews thus far.
You're not supposed to wonder if you're in an Aston Martin.

My only concern here would be reliability on the road course. The F8X held up wonderfully to abuse. I know the new Z06 has issues, so I wouldn't be surprised if their other cars did too.

Well aware. Doesn't mean this car is impervious to problems. How do coolant temps do under stress? How about oil temps? Other issues?

With the Z06 conundrum I'm thinking this was abused mightily before the go button got pushed. Never really heard anything but solid regarding the lt1.

I haven't heard a single complaint about the regular C7 vette, which shares its engine with this car. Corvettes have always been incredibly reliable track cars, I don't see why the Z06's issues would be relevant since it's a completely different setup, and the issue with the Z06 is supercharger heat soak, not coolant/oil temps.

Look how the 1LE did or how the C7 is doing. Those are comparable cars as they are N/A. As far as I know, there are not complaints about the base C7 with the LT1. Even the ZL1, which was a supercharged LS3, does very well on the road course.

The only complaints ever from a tracked Camaro was the Z/28 due the LS7 issues (valve issues) that followed over from the Z06.
