Aftermarket Exhaust for 840i

Is there a good aftermarket exhaust that would make the 840i sound more like the M850?

No exhaust in the world will make a straight 6 sound like a V8.

As far as I’m aware, nothing exists for the 840i - I’ve tried looking myself. Would have to be a custom job.

I can get you Fi Exhaust, but it won't be able to growl the same as V8.

^ There really needs to be a valveless exhaust for the 840i

I mean, the B58 is a nice sounding engine that doesn’t really need muffling the way a loud V8 would. I had the AWE valveless on my M340i and it sounded incredible. Sounded way better than my stock M850i currently does, which has a great V8 rumble but is just far too quiet.

Check the thread history as a simple mod to negate the valves on the M850i. Just need to ensure (Sport Plus is a good option) to take a drive and once the car is off verify the valves/flaps are open and pull the fuse. No CEL, etc. and wide open from then on.

How much are these out of interest?

I can’t speak for UK pricing.
It may be different than US.
You may need to contact local retailer on that.

Did you ever find an exhaust for your 840i? I find something on GT Haus and Armytrix.

My 840 exhaust flap opens as soon as it idles down at cold start. If warm start opens at start up. Plenty loud, rumbling and even pops. I heard a 840 GC with a straight pipe and was louder, but sounded like ricer. Lol, no thank you! I think BMW did a great job on the stock exhaust in the 840, but I’ve also heard that in UK it’s more muted. There’s a thread on this topic for UK 840.
