New to the forum, need some help deciding on this M850 deal

Hello bimmers, new to the forum, and I wish everybody a fantastic forth of July.

Recently I am looking into a sort of mid-life crisis car (I am not that old but I can see the 30s incoming). A used 2022 M850 caught my sight and the dealer is selling it for around 78-79k USD. The M850 has pretty much all of the options available (including the B&W sound system), it's a 2022 model with around 10k miles.

I have been driving a 2019 330i for a few years, and I was planning to trade in my 2019 330i and take an out-of-pocket for no more than 60k cash. This M850i is sorta exceeding my planned budget for a little bit, but I do like this car. I am wondering if there is any room for negotiation for a car like this, like could I beat it down to 74-75k ish, or should I expect to pay the full price and save my time?

Thanks for the advice in advance.

Make an offer. They could always say no.

What you'd offer is an absolutely reasonable offer, and I'd almost bet you should be able to lower that asking price by 3 grand. I'd start with 5 grand off, so the deal is settled where you want it. It might take you a day to get a call back, but just be a bit patient. I'm shopping for a new one, but since it's the same darn thing, and they depreciate like a mofo, I might go the used route too... if I could find a truly pristine example. I'm looking at $118K fully loaded (plus TTL and crap). I just need to drive one first, and see how much the car 'talks to me' . Will drive an LC500 too. Good luck.

Thanks guys, I’ll give it a shot and see where this goes. The car has been listed for more than two month now, I guess it’s hard to sell a 80 grand car now days.

Yup, play the long game…it worked for me.

It’s a lot of money to have tied up in dead stock that is depreciating by the day….
