what does this little rubber part go to?

It looks like a switch button head. My thought would be say it triggers when your seat reaches farthest back position so it doesn't over run. But I also know that the seats have a current sensing so it won't crush anyone so not sure if my first thought is valid or not...

I think it goes on your nipples...that my best guess. Not a great guess really.

It comes from the back of the bmw oem air freshener kit (link). It must have broken off at some point and fallen to the floor. In summary, toss it.
