Coding question.

Hello all,

I have a situation and wondered if anyone has run into this. I used bimmercode to turn off the ASD and the horn sound when locking the car while the engine is running. Since then I have noticed that if the car is off the ambient lighting as well as the hazard light button and sport exhaust button remain lit. If I lock the car the ambient lighting turns off but the other buttons stay lit. I thought I would see if anyone has experienced this before I restore my backup. Thank you everyone for any insights you may have.

Next time you shut the car down...come back approx 15 minutes later and see if the lights you mentioned have turned off.

Make sure that you DO NOT use the remote fob or comfort access features...or do anything that would "wake" the car up.

The car does not immediately shut down if you don't lock it...in case you come back. There are some modules that will remain active...then will shut down after a specific time period (usually around 15-16 minutes)...then power down and the car will go into "sleep mode".

All of my BMWs have had some light stay on until the consumer-cut off shuts everything down. Back in the 90s...it was the little orange light next to the gear shift lever. On my current F chassis BMWs (an f06 & f15), the ambient lights stay on for a minute or two, and will then shut off if I don't open a door or make any calls on the communication bus...and the hazard light will stay on, too. It is usually the last to turn off...and that is how you know when the vehicle has gone into SLEEP mode.

These things were happening prior to the coding your performed. It is normal behavior.

This was completely correct. Thank you.

Good...one less thing to worry about. Thanks for the update.
