m850i DME locations

Good Afternoon!

I've been getting ready to mod my M4, but in the process have been trying to learn all I can in regards to the m850i as well (my wife's car).

I've recently reached out to a local BMW shop and they quoted me some crazy prices ($1300 to install a downpipe). I don't mind paying, but I do know a downpipe on an M4 is easier than headers on sn s550 Mustang ($600 install). The same shop told me that the m850i will be a difficult DME removal since one is in a touigh location to reach. I couldn't find much online in regards to the location, but when I looked up an m550i it appeared to be right on top. So I snapped a pic on the m850i and hoped someone could confirm these are the correct location and there is no additional "hard to reach" dme?

Yes you are correct on the location, and the take off is not that bad just don't drop them.... lol

The secondary's are easy to do but the primary can be a huge pain in the butt. Either way price seems a bit high unless that includes cost of the pipes too then probably not all that bad.

Got my boards back about a week and a half ago. $1300? You half to be kidding me?. It takes about 20 minuets if you take the time to label every connection. They are already color coded so a pic of each side will work. Just clearly label the boards when you take them out (DS/PS). The DME tune is worth it. Especially if you are also swapping the intake. Makes a big difference. I live in UT at 4500FT above sea level so it's a must. Even with a tune I don't think I can achieve the 0/60 times everyone else gets on a stock tune at sea level. Its so annoying! Got my Draggy a few days ago so I should be able to check in the next week or two. Good Luck!
