Anyone notice that some of their driver assist features no longer work after this upgrade?

I have a 2020 M8C GC and now get warnings after every start that some driver assist functionality is compromised. Based on what I see on the parking cameras it is the side sensors that aren't working.

No issues with mine. I have DA Pro. I assume you've locked the car and let it sit for a few hours post upgrade?
Maybe try to disable then reenable DA functions in iDrive.

Of interest, my backup camera has changed. During daytime, it was super bright, almost like the gamma correction was too high. Just got home from work and it was almost useless backing into the garage. It was so dark, I could see maybe a car length behind me. Unless my backup lights stopped working, haha

When the camera is on, you can go to brightness and contrast on the right side menu. Probably just got reset.

Driven hundreds of miles and charged battery with trickle charger, still stuck on "we'll let you know when we can install" and RSU 038400 fault... Same happened on 3/2023 update and dealer had to perform and said known issue.

Try activating different car functions such as the hazard lights. See if using those functions a few times clears the preconditioning code....

If your car has a bunch of coding, maybe try resetting back to factory defaults. Good luck.

2023 M8 Competition Gran Coupe. Did the upgrade this morning. All went well, took about 40 minutes.
Had to reset all my personal settings in setup. It also reset my coded items to default. I was able to code everything back with no problems using Bimmercode. The only code I could not redo was the brake force coding, but at least I do not have the install message any more.

Did you confirm that brake force blinking was working?

Yes, it no longer flashes while hard braking.

After multiple fails last year, over multiple version updates, I had to take the car to the dealer to get the update to work. I went from 07/2021 to 07/2023.58

Tech said there was nothing I did wrong. No battery replacement. Nothing about hazard lights. It was fixed free of charge.

For those still having issues getting the install to complete, this is what the service record said:

So then I got the 11/2023.50 update notice a couple of weeks ago…the download went smoothly and the ‘Preparations for upgrade….you will be notified when the upgrade can be installed…’ message appeared, and….

It worked! Got the ‘ready for installation’ message today, and in 20 minutes, 11/2023 was ready.

Now I just need to see what configurations were lost

I just got another upgrade notification yesterday although it was as I was leaving work so I just waved it off since I couldn't install it then. I thought I just got one. I see now checking the app its the .5 upgrade

I can't imagine a 0.2 worth of upgrade does much, but does anyone have any idea what its supposed to do? I'm really not up for redoing all of my coding that I just re-did a week ago.

No one knows with any certainty outside of BMWAG.

Is your coding so complicated that it will take you more than 15-20 minutes to restore?

My take on this is BMW software engineers are working on fixes, improvements , etc. If they spend the time to do it for a 6 year old model nearing EOL, I will install it. So far it's working ok for me. No issues to report.

I chose to apply the OTA update this past weekend. One positive benefit or strange coincidence: I run a catless system and my CEL went away.

In case anyone is wondering, I lost my custom coding, and I was able restore 90% of it thanks to Bimmercode. I'll have my local guy redo my ambient lighting and front lights amber delete.

Honestly the biggest hassle I always have with the coding is getting the app to connect to the car. I always had a huge hassle using the wifi adaptor so I got a wired one and even had some hassle with that last time around.

Understood. I'm on Android using an MHD black wifi adapter. I follow these steps and have no issues connecting

1. Open Binmercode and make sure the latest database update is installed

2. I enable airplane mode on phone then re-enable wifi only

3. First I put the car in diagnostic mode. Then I manually connect to the MHD device wifi and have to force the connection since the phone sees no path to the web so it thinks I shouldn't connect to this network. Once I click to override it I'm good.

4. I proceed with Binmercode and all works ok.

Yea, Android here also. One of the big issues I also had with the wifi adaptor was that it would say it couldn't code certain modules for some reason. Not sure if that had to do with having the latest update, but it was also a frequent random issue. I always have to remember to put the phone into airplane mode. When I redid my X3 and M8 2 weeks ago I had a hell of a time getting it to connect to the X3, eventually worked and then no problems with the 8. Its odd and random (and annoying). If might be more tolerable if I ever saw and actual improvements or changes with the updates, but I haven't in several years with any of them.
