Ok I've decided to buy a '24 M8 coupe in Brooklyn gray with the 811M's and "gut red" interior, Vic55, hope you're with me on this

Spoke to my dealership's MGR and their allocation for 24's have already gone into production and can no longer be modified (his have the 813M's which are nice, but we luv the 811's) he is concerned it may be several months before he can get us what we want, but will speak to the BMW rep to see if he can sprinkle some magic dust and see if something happens. He also said even if they provide an extra allocation, it may not be until next month and is looking at ~6mos for it to be here. There are 23's out there for close to what we're looking for, but we are paying cash and if there's not a commensurate discount for the 23's it makes no sense. We're paying cash for the following reasons - lease rates are abysmal and with the 10-yr hitting 4% today will certainly not help next time they reset, and I dislike payments, we've had 0 debt for many, many years and don't want any, Don't get me wrong I'm not against utilizing debt intelligently for bigger ticket items, and although $140k is a fair amount of $ it's not enough where it remaining invested vs leasing would mean that much.

Any BG owners here and what does everyone think of the color? This is essentially the car but is a 23.

Don’t own one, saw BG on a few different BMW models, not my fav color. Has light bluish hues.

For silver/grey I think skyscraper is much better.

GL with whatever you do

There is a M8 GC with 811 wheels in my neighborhood (it’s also BG).

I like the color on the M8 although I feel the 813 wheels look better and look more aggressive….especially on that color.

Personal taste of course, but I agree that 811s are the best of the M8 wheel options. By far imo.

this better not be another tease thread--- i get enough of that with African Princes offering me money if I give them my bank account.

BG is a great color in person and I would rock it all day. Its not close to silver but probably a bluer shade of Nardo.

Go to the G8X section, tons of really good pictures and comparos:

If you give me your bank info I promise I'll send you an African princess lol.

Thanks for the link and opinion.

Trying to find a 24 with the 811's but most are on 813's.

Questions: the 813's come in two width's the 1YZ version which are narrower and the 1TH's which are wider...any idea why they're different widths?

Since I'm paying cash I'd prefer a 24 as the 23 discount would be marginal ~3000 and there's a $2000 price increase on the 24's...is this enough to make up the diff between model years, or should I hold out for a 24?

the M8 only has 1 width I believe

9.5 front and 10.5 rears...

As for the model year--- I personally operate in the "now" so Id just get what you like depending on how quickly its ready.

Resale is going to be tight but a newer car works but miles will easily override.

EG- my Plaid has 3k miles but is a 2021 and my offers are better than my buddys 2022 with more miles (9k) but again this is tesla.

If the model year changes are not material then miles are a stronger driver unless its not a big margin. EG 2k or 3k is nothing but 7k or more then the 23 would be better than a 24 with 7k or more miles since no major changes post LCI (mini lci).

So lets say mileage is equal on both 23/24 how much diff on a $150k vehicle? $10K?

The 1YZ's are what's on the spec sheets my local dealer has coming in.

For me, getting exactly what I want is paramount. I don't compromise well in normal circumstances. I won't compromise at all when spending $150k.

Agree, so here’s the rub an available 23,has what I want but with little discount -2k + loyalty and the 24 would be $2700 higher in msrp and currently 4-6 mos out at msrp…what would you do?

I don't think M8's have ever had that tire size available.

M550 and M850 are the same. M5 and M8 are the same. (Width wise and profile size, that is.)
