On the M8GC is the sound kit necessary? I’m reading conflicting comments.

Just had the exhaust and sound kit installed and it seems like the valves open and close with the standard car controls.

Is the sound kit doing anything different?

The OEM sends a range of sound meaning its not just always open its partial. The sound kits allow the user to control the sound most only go fully open or closed.

Thanks man. So I understand - if I’m in sport plus with sport exhaust mode does it matter what I do with the sound kit?

If I read the akrapovic info it says the default mode is adaptive and the valves follow the car mode so they’d be open anyway.

There sound kit actually allows for three modes, full closed, adaptive, and full open. It over rides OEM signal when engaged in full open or closed. I have a few of their systems just not on my M8 this time wanted something different and more affordable.
