Quick question re M Mode gauge cluster

Guys,

I like the gauge cluster when I push the M Mode button. IE, the center gauge that shows the speed and gear in the middle, with the rising bar tach on either side.

I wish to heck that I could specify this M Mode with my customized settings for the red M1 & M2 buttons. Is there a way to do this?

Right now the only way I can access M Mode is by pushing the button each time. I wish I could set it as the default or have it pop up with my M1 & M2 buttons.

Have the smart guys here figured out a hack that I don't know about?!??! I'm all ears for any solutions. Thank you!

This may be codable with Bimmercode or E-Sys.
I use E-Sys to code my 2022 M850 (personal coding only). I changed the stock instrument cluster to 'M Performance up to 200 mph' as the default cluster. There are also other cluster styles available. I don't know if the mode you are looking for is one of them. There is a mode called 'M Sport'. Possibly this is what you are referring to ???

I would reach out to a BMW coder and ask some questions. I believe some on this forum have used r33_RGSport to do coding for them. Maybe he can help, you. Good luck with it.

From what I have gathered, we can not program the m1 or m2 with the M mode display; you will have to push that damn button each time LOL.

Ben aka r33_RGSport didnt do it for me...

Were you able to program the M8 Sport Plus Cluster? I would love to have that for my M850... I know some members managed to change the speed from 260km/h to 330km/h which I really don't care about but definitely interested in the sport cluster if doable!

Unfortunately, not code-able.
I believe there is hardware hack, but I never tried it.

I can code M8 cluster, but you won't know whether you are in comfort, sport, or sport plus driving mode.

r33_RGSport Just so I’m clear, the instrument cluster turns to the sport view of the M8 with all driving modes? Do you have some images to share of how the cluster look on an M850?

I don't have picture since most guys I've done are remote coding.
Local guys doesn't want the M8 cluster after I've explained the situation.

I’m pretty sure it can be coded to NON M models… please see the video below, the M8 cluster was coded to a regular 8 series and the view changes to M view when M1 is engaged

Thanks for sharing, you are right the driver was able to change between comfort and sport plus view on the cluster. What's interesting the car was not screaming at the driver as he hardly touched the steering wheel. Usually for me as soon as I remove my hands off the wheel within 20s the car starts warning me and disconnects auto mode.

That guy is using plug and play module.
Not coding.

Hi, on a similar subject (and perhaps counter to what most people may want) is there a way to code the car so it doesn't show the rev counter in the HUD when in M Mode? I like the M Mode display, but I hate the way it looks in the HUD (too big and gets in the way of the eyeline, and I don't want reduced height as it's useful for nav). There's lots of configuration available, but not to switch on or off the HUD rev counter.

But there is an option to make it much smaller
