Curious what has sparked more interest or more in demand.

Currently driving around in a 840i GC while my 750i is in for service. So far I've driven the Coupe, the Convertible, and now the GC.

For me it's a no brainier to get the M8 GC. The added rear legroom allows me to recline my seat to a comfortable position (I'm 6'7") and it seems to me that the trunk is a bit larger. Overall the design is stunning and I can't imagine how fast the M version is, given the 6-cylinder is plenty quick.

If it were my only car then the GC but as a second car the coupe is just sexier, more special. Not totally sold on the rear quarter of the GC plus its wider and taller not just longer.

M8 Comp GC offers an almost perfect combination of performance and practicality. GC would be my choice.

Comp Coupe. Looks better to me, and the lack of rear seat space means I don't have to taxi people around

I agree with Noushy but in my case am going for the vert. Second car so don't need the room and want a convertible as a change from my 911 Turbo coupe. If this was my DD, then I would go for the GC.

Absolutely second car has to be a passion car if not your DD but still great as one provided you don't have 4 kids 😝

I think the coupe comp looks better as well. I asked bc when looking at a car with a useless back seat for me I'm buying a Porsche, 992 is just as comfortable and handles phenomenal

I was wondering if GC more desirable due to back seat. Perhaps someone looking at M5/E63S but wanting a better looking sedan

I'd take the coupe over a 4 door any day. No kids here so the only thing we ever have in the back seat is my brief case or friends going for dinner.

But the reality even with a proper sedan like the E63s or M5, the back isn't a great place to be in. These are performance cars and simply not that comfortable due to their bare bone rear seat packages and stiff suspension.
I know our friends liked our old S-class with Alcantara headrest pillows and massage seats a whole lot better

Totally agree and hence my 2020 M850i Coupe as no kids and the useless back seats are perfect to handle a box of Kleenex and the sun visor.

The other consideration for the Coupe vs Grand Coupe (M850i or M8 variants) is performance. Additional weight, body length, etc. of the GC takes a hit. Granted if you are just looking for a daily driver to enjoy the commute to work like I am vs hitting the track (I'd have went all in on a M8C Coupe) the performance hit is likely irrelevant.
