Laminated Side Glass vs. Tempered
Don't want to nit-pick but does anyone know why BMW would not use laminated or acoustic side glass in the 8 series?Tempered is stronger in the frameless application but Mercedes and Audi offer laminated/acoustic in their coupes. My GC is pretty quiet at speed, but I've noticed quite a bit of traffic noise. At this price point,it seems it would be standard or at least an option.Any thoughts?

I think it is since I seem to remember Acoustic glass being an option. It is on the X5

That aside to your point it should be an option especially in a flagship series for those that want it. For me I'd pass and put my $3400 into the B&W as at least in my opinion it is 10x the value. Last edited by bloozemanAZ; 03-24-2020 at 10:32 PM.. |
