I configured both, M850i is 112k and built AMG 53 was 110k. Same price with the BMW being much much faster and likely better handling.
I haven't driven a M850i GC. I wasn't impressed with the dealers 125k AMG gt 53 at all. Felt it was a ripoff for that price.

M8 GC competes with the AMG GT 63 and 63s
I can see that. The problem with the 53 variant of the AMG GT 4D is that the CLS exists, and weighs over 200lbs less and offers most of the same features/design elements for over $30k less while offering a more agile/dynamic drive. All you're giving up is really the hatchback utility, some of the looks, and some different interior elements. The GT 4D is suited better to the 63/63s variants. I had the chance to drive on a good back road in the GT 4D63s, and in that form the car is glorious, and the V8 has an incredible exhaust note and shockingly good handling despite its size.

How is the 8 better looking than this
Your car is a better design. The design is less busy vs the new 8.

Was in the area this morning and decided to see if the new 8GC was at my dealer and they had one out front.

Overall it looks much better in person than online and the proportions are very nice. It still won't beat the 6GC in looks and I still wish it had a sharper kink in the rear window, but its a very attractive car nonetheless especially in the spec below with the BSM exterior and nice silver rims over the ugly cerium gray ones.

Here's some pics below, not the best due to how it was parked and the car was dirty, but still good looking.

for the guys who has checked out 8 GC, how is the rear room compare to 5 series (ignore the center seat of course, and understand roof line is probably lower...)

Couldn't sit in it since the dealers closed on Sunday, but specs for the 5er and 8GC for rear legroom seem to be pretty similar (within less than 1 inch of each other) so I would think its less comfortable than the 5er due to lack of headroom as well as getting in and out might be more difficult without really providing any more legroom.
