840d going in for a remap

So I've been thinking about it for some time now and finally decided to go for a performance mod on my 840d - not that it needs one!

I've decided not to go for the chip modules which connect to various points on the engine but rather a software enhancement/remap whatever you want to call it.

Expecting around 100 Nm more torque and about 60 bhp more.

Nervous but looking forward to seeing how it drives.

Has anyone had any mod experience with their 8?

Its a bit weird to me that in the F06/12/13 gen of 6 and the new 8 both skip the entry level single turbo diesel and have the twin turbo diesel engine, but neither chassis has had the triple or quad turbo to make a 650d or 850d. Both generations of 5 and 7 at the same time as the 6 and 8 have had the full range of engines.

Because a 850d might usurp an 850i in real world driving and the price would be getting too high?

I should probably be a bit more helpful - I know that the old 535d and other twin turbo N57 engines seemed to respond well and didn't have issues related to the extra power.

I looked up br-performance and evolve, BR says a flash will take it from 326hp to 400hp and 680nm to 800nm which seems fairly impressive. Evolve say an 80hp gain but don't list torque, so it seems up to about 400hp should be about right.

looking at getting my 840d remapped in the spring when the factory warranty expires.

Anyone else had their 840d remapped? how have you found it? Performance and economy etc?

Where abouts are you based? Are you after a tuning box or an actual remap.

The B57 engine responds very well to tuning and will be an absolute beast once it's done.

DMS automotive has a remap for the 840d, takes the output to 410bhp+ and adds 100lb ft torque. As its AWD it hits 60 in around 4 seconds and also has delimited top speed.

https://www.dmsautomotive.com/car/bm...-g14-g15-2018/

They also do a remap for the 50D tri-turbo diesel which is hilarious - figures wise, nearly 500bhp and more torque than an M8 competition
