What would you do? M5C vs M850i

Both new (USA);

M5C
- Snapper Rocks
- 20" jet black 706M
- Aragon Extended
- Dark Carbon trim
- Exec pkg
- B&W sound
- CCB
$125,550 MSRP
617 HP. 3.1 0-60

M850i
- Barcelona
- 20" jet black 728M
- Tartufo Extended
- Carbon trim
- Cooling/Tire Pkg
- M Carbon Roof
- Glass controls
- M Carbon Exterior Pkg
- B&W sound
$125,200 MSRP
523 HP. 3.5 0-60

* coupe vs sedan not an issue/primary concern

Similar price points. One is the true M with more power/performance. One is higher on the luxury scale with slightly less performance.

Just interested in thoughts/opinions if presented with this decision. Colors/Trim/interior being variable in the same cost points.

I read M5C and snapper rocks and my decision was made. Then I read both cars were the same price and I was tempted to call the police on why such a thread exists.

What do U mean “Color/trim/interior being variable” ?

850 for the looks but if the M5 had a significantly better chassis then I don’t know what I’d do. The power difference wouldn’t bother me.

Meaning you don't have to pick those combos of color/trim/interior as long as price didn't change.

8 looks better, but for me, it's going to be M5C. Every day and all day.

I felt the same way but wanted to float the choice out there to see if it was consistent.

M8C is going to cost a lot more I assume?

Edit: Also if I were to compare I would do M5C to M8 GC Competition, assume back seat on 8 GC is actually adult proper

M8C around $160k similarly optioned. That's why I'm comparing the 2 at $125k builds.

M8 coupe with no packages/options at $133k. Close to $125k.

I guess we can add a stock M8 into the decision group.

I'd go with the stock M8, with some options. No CCBs, of course, those are super pricey.

M5C. Unless you get a mega discount on the 8, I wouldn't even think twice.

Agreed.

The 8 has the looks, but the M5 has everything else. And it is not as if the M5 is ugly, quite the contrary.
