Isweep is1500 advice

Really a simple question that I'm hoping to get help with. Thinking about switching to the 1500. Anyone, especially people in colder climates have issues with squeaking?

No squeaks but Im not exactly in a colder climate... from what Ben at RG has told me; you wont have any issues.

my factory pads are now starting to squeak after a few months. not annoyingly loud as my old m5, but mildly noticeable. plus my wheels get dirty from brake dust like 2-3 days after washes.

Cant wait to throw these pads on.

I am in CT.

I just put the IS1500's onthe front of my M850i, rears were just delivered. The only time I heard some squeal is first thing in the morning while backing out of my garage. The car has been sitting as I am down with Covid, I'll repost when things are back to normal with my findings.

Other than that, I am very satisfied with them. Had no squeal at all under normal driving conditions.

Does anyone know if these pads also work on 2023 840? Sorry, if stupid question, given they obviously work on an 850, but I know nothing about brake pads.

I just purchased a new 2023 840 last Thursday. Test drove Wednesday no squeal at all. Thursday big cold front and brake squealing started right after pick up. I’m not talking low volume squeaks. You can hear this from hundreds of yards away. And seems like only from front driver side. I’m taking it in Monday, but have read that changing out pads will help. That is if it’s not just something with that one brake rotor or pad.

I also don’t understand how everyone thinks this is just how M brakes are. We had a 2021 540 and I’ve driven other BMWs with M brakes. No squealing on any of them.

Reporting back....no more early morning squeal. Must have been that the car was parked for so long after being wet.

Yes, the Isweep's will work on all 840's and 850's

Any recommendations on where I can buy them? I just need the front. Do they also come as a set or just the pads?

Any thoughts on which pads will help me more in the squeal area? The price difference is tempting ($176 cheaper for the EBC).

I have had zero squeal with my 1500s, but perhaps r33_RGSport could answer more

EBC is hit and miss.
Some reported no squeal, some reported has squeal.
ISweep IS1500 and IS2000 for sure no squeal.

Fantastic! Is it a good idea to also replace the hardware (shims, clips, springs)? Do you recommend a good-quality hardware kit?

If you have high miles, then yes.
Otherwise, you'll be good with the original one as long you didn't damage it during the process.

Thanks guys! I just ordered the IS1500 brake pads from RGSport.

I'm also interested in getting a recommendation for a good hardware kit. Even though my car only has 22,000 miles, I'd like to avoid any potential brake noise issues. To achieve this, I'd prefer to replace all the small components involved in the brake job.

Any recommendations? A link would be great!
