2023 M8 Engine Component Upgrades and more???

Next year I'm planning to start major upgrades, and one group of parts I am focused on next year is engine components (non asthetic).

I have my eye on a few brands, but ultimately I'd love some feedback from owners who actually have any of the upgrades below installed on their vehicles.

Any opinion is welcome, good or bad. Just want to narrow down selection(s).

-Turbochargers (preferably bolt on and with Surge Valves)
-Full Exhaust (Most likely going with Akro Titanium)
-Intake (not sold on intake yet)
-Camshafts
-Suspension (KW V4 Series Coilover Kit what I'm looking at)
-Water/Methanol Injection (still debating)

Look forward to the input! Thanks!

I have the:
-AKRA full Titanium
-Secondary downs with CAT delete
-Eventuri Intakes
-CSF Inter-coolers with (Methanol option port not used currently)
I installed everything myself and happy thus far.

What else do you want to know? I have pics of all the installs if you want to see anything.

Curious but working backwards what are you looking to achieve in power? Or overall goal is?

I ask because I've been working on this for awhile now and it seems to show stock turbo and transmission are good for just about 800 - 900hp and maybe 750tq before they need work done. Keeping in mind you will also have to have ECM tuned to really get performance safely out of the machine. There are a couple builders in the UK that will send a small block and transmission that is good to well over the 1000hp number but your talking 60k or more and then of course cost of labor and other components.

If you aren't looking to go that extreme don't worry about turbos or camshafts, you will get more power from a meth injector setup with stock components and a good tune for very little in ways of cost. Cooling would be something I would put on your list like what TheGreatM8 has for CSF and I would add heat exchanger as well.

So, are the platforms proving to be pretty reliable up to around the 800HP range? Basically a solid STG 2 setup? I see a lot of people seem to have that done and be daily driving them.

Not exactly a part and Im sure you already have it on the list but you do need a tune for those mods

HP wise from my gathering and that really just comes from calling and emailing some of the big name builders out there is its the transmission that is the most limiting factor and really comes from the TQ numbers.

That's what I've been quoted to achieve ~1000hp

Engine build (includes rods etc) - £17995 inc vat
Meth kit - £2950 inc vat & installed
Uprated turbos - £5000 inc vat
CSF charge coolers - £3132 inc vat
Custom tune - £2500

Did you dyno before/after with intake? Hearing mixed reviews of any true benefit from that specific intake, but damn it does look good lol.

Yeah from what I've gathered, and depending on what stage turbos, it's looking like that price range.

I guess a helpful side note;

I'm only budgeting for about $25k-$40k for this build MAX.

So ideally, I'm trying to get the most performance I can without doing anything extreme, which sounds like the full build will definitely be out of the question.

And this is why I posted, input like this is really helpful! Cooling/intake

Ideally I was originally looking for 1,000hp, but now I'm starting to think 750-850hp may be the sweet spot for what I want.

Definitely don't want to blow the transmission after completing a build lol

I did not DYNO. Was scheduled too but found out my guys only have a 2 wheel Dyno and got tons of warnings from folks about putting an M8 on one of those. I wish I could have; but so far with all I've done, for me - its aesthetics and sound. Probably did gain some sort of power (which no doubt there's probably a small amount) with everything I did thus far.

Also, Yes! It does look good under that hood!

Keep us updated with what you do!

Anyone has Project Gamma coolers installed? I heard they're exactly the same as CSF and come from the same factory… even read the rumours that you can actually see the CSF logo being sanded off… PG coolers are literally twice cheaper than CSF.
