WTB: Used Nikkor 18-70 lens

So the zoom on my 18-70 kit lens that came with D70s got stuck in a middle one day. I got on 'em googles and found out that it is a common problem with these lenses and caused by a loose screw. Fine. Let's take this bitch apart.
Took it apart, fixed the screw and tried to re-assemble it back. This is where things got ugly. There are 2 cables that you need to plug in, but for the life of me and i cant do it i tried EVERYTHING (and mind you, i was born with a screwdriver in my hand)

Anyway, ended up buying a cheap 18-55 Sigma lens for $80, to hold me over for now, but this thing sucks serious ass. I am planning on buying 18-200 VR, but can't afford it at the moment, so i am looking to buy a used 18-70, until i pull the trigger on the better one. Checked eBay - 1 available with like a gazillion bids. Nothing on Craigslist.

Does anyone have one for sale? Willing to pay $150.

Probably not the price you are looking for but here's one...

You should just hold off and save up for the 18-200, what a great DX lens. There is always cashback on ebay if you buy it now. Could save you some cash on what you really want.

^ oh, thank you!

sorry did not see your response earlier due to a complete thread subscribe FAIL

Mailed my lens to Nikon to see what they would charge to re-assemble it. Everything else is in order. Just needed 2 cables plugged in (could not do it myself. VERY hard to reach) and 3 screws put in.

they quoted me $190.50. bleh.

I'm just gonna buy a new lens and get it over with...

I would get a 16-85VR instead. It's sharper and has a better contrast. I also heard that 18-200 has a pretty bad barrel distortion at certain focal lenghts.
