update to 2022

Hey guys, so I've been in surgery for a year and while I regret updating my 2019 to 07.2021.85, I'm now updating to 11.2022.

Any concerns or things I should know or be aware or fix ?

Please let me know. Thanks in advance.

No. These updates are mysterious. Probably something nefarious going on, but as long as my exhaust backfire gets left alone, I don’t care. I ain’t done noticed a DAMN thing with these updates, and I guess that’ll do

The one constant I always notice with these updates, all of them, is that the “engine sound” config gets reset to balanced, and the auto/remote start privacy settings get reset…. Everything else is stayed the same on my 2019 m850.

Have had it downloaded to the car for a couple of months now but it never triggers the install. Biggest new feature is reduced aggressiveness aka recalibrated lane change assistance while in full DAP. Most everything else was iD8 only features.

Yikes, I'd hate to be doing a lane change and have the update randomly recalibrate.

Thanks.

The update will only install while the car is parked and turned off. No concerns about behavior changing in the middle of a drive. Most users barely notice the changes BMW pushes out.

I've been waiting since last November for it to install, it even downloaded another newer update which i'm still waiting for it to install.

Yes, the OTA updates the software logic on install while parked so the next time you use DAP in full assistance you get the benefit of the update. I really want it as the lane change is a bit aggressive at higher freeway speeds, e.g. 85 MPH. In fact it even woke up my wife who was napping in the passenger seat. She of course asked if I was getting sleepy and just explained "no, just the car driving itself".

My exact experience. One prior to 11/2022 never I stalled and now this one looks like it won't either. I'm likely going to have my dealer put on the 03/2023 update that is now out with a few forum brethren with it either preloaded or recent OTAs.

Update: I had to run an errand today so checked on the OTA and sure enough the 11/2022.60 release vaporized. I had received the MyBMW app stating it was expiring soon last week and to download it then upload to the car. Duh? It's been on the car for months.

We're about 2-3 weeks away from dealers having access to 7/2023.xx. you might want to wait and get that one.

Ultimately long term I may get a trickle charger as pretty sure the issue is the lithium battery charge as after long drives I'll get the ready to install after cool down but it never triggers. I've even set a timer on my phone to remind me after 35 minutes to go back out to the garage and check.

Yep so frustrating! i've complained to BMW about it and requested a mobile tech to come out and sort. I shouldn't have to take the car to a dealer to apply a SW update that is OTA!

Thanks and picked one up as both acid (including AGM) and Lithium. What setting do you use?
