Yup. Loving my Alpina Green 2022 B8. (it's on hiatus waiting for better weather in Boston).

OK B8 folks, what do you like the best about the B8? I suppose I'm trying to justify a B8 purchase.
Currently enjoy the 850i vert, and looking to swap out an E63S daily driver. Convince me!

The E63S is a great vehicle. You just gotta pick where you wanna be on the spectrum of luxury sedan vs harsh sports car with 4 doors. The Alpina is quieter and softer than the E63. The B8 is smoother and a better daily driver in my opinion without giving up speed. It ups the 'special' cause your neighbor isn't going to have an Alpina. But if you want 'exciting' then you want the harsher AMG. If you want a similar vehicle to your E63 with a little more performance and a different look by paying a lot more, then get a GT63 There is also Brabus if you want a tuned Mercedes - would add that special aspect that Alpina adds to a BMW. Though I have no idea what a Brabus feels like to drive personally.

That's about what I thought. Both are impressive rocketships that also handle well, but for driving 700 miles in a day (for example), I think the B8 may be strongly preferable.

I can echo Michiganave. I drove the M5 Comp and found it very harsh for long trips and as a daily driver. My Alpina has been an amazing upgrade from my M850i coupe and it is very noticeable every time I get behind the wheel. My only improvement would be to have the option to turn up the exhaust rumble (periodically).
Just passed 3K miles on mine and looking forward to more driving now that Spring is almost here. |

Is there any way to order the B8 chrome in the "brushed" hue, like the M850i, instead of the bright chrome?

Sorry for yet another question, but what's the verdict on the 21" wheels? I've already replaced bent 20" wheels on my M850i vert due to PA potholes. I assume the Alpina wheels are more stout?

No. Alpina wheels are notoriously soft and prone to getting bent. So I went with the 20s to get more sidewall against potholes here in Colorado. And better winter tire selection. And easier to powdercoat cause the 21" as a fancier center cap design than the 20". You can't import the black ones through BMW at this point, just the silver.
