Yes, they look identical, exactly the same. Now, when the men in white show up with the special jacket, just let them put it on and go for a ride with them, it’ll be ok.

In photos, maybe a bit, the relative proportions to itself are there-ish in that angle in a vacuum. Put another car next to them or sit them next to each other to see the true story of them relative to each other, or anything else. The M8 GC is 6” longer and 1” wider while being 1” shorter, not to mention how much whiter the hips will appear in relation to the cabin and other similar points that will make it seem more aggressive.

I can find any picture on the net and somehow using an angle or view address it as looking like a car that is completely different.
I own the M8 and have seen the Acura in life so many times... its not remotely the same. Neither pic used here by the OP does either car justice and that says alot for both.

One would need to photoshop the Acura into looking like a M8 as otherwise it does not (outside of broad strokes). Everyone's favorite is the 8-series to Mustang comparison. Sure on the broad strokes (more so in this case) they do share characteristics but put the two cars up together in the real world and the 8-series shines with overall better exterior esthetics. Don't believe me ask the Mustang owner two spots over from my reserved parking at the office as he started the conversation given he was in awe of the M850i.
