Back in a BMW - New (to me) M850 Vert
Nice to be back in a BMW after all these years. I started with an E46 M3 before moving to a E92 335, E70 Diesel X5 (which in retrospect, would have been great tow vehicle), and a F10 535 before making the jump to Porsche.
Now with 2 young kids (7&2) that want to ride in something "fun" instead of my Cayenne but can't ride in my 911 which is being used as a track car, I started to think about a 4 seater convertible. The S Class Cab is supreme in comfort but doens't fit my eye aesthetically, their E class cab only came in a 6 pot so that was written off. The Audi's are nice (I was really impressed with the Q7 over the X5 and bought my wife one) but there was nothing interesting in this segment. I absolutely hate BMW's design lately with the obnoxious grills and weird headlights but the 8 is stunning. I picked her up with 16k, CPO and fresh PS4S tires. Once the smoke from the Canadian fires ease up, I'm excited to be able to take my wife and 2 boys out in it with the top down. |

I appreciate it. One for sun, one to tow, and one for the track. The wife’s car is going in the driveway. Fortunately she’s a good sport and doesn’t really care. I do about 40 track days a year and she’s supportive. She is liking the 8 as she won’t even get in the 911 anymore.
