M8 Competition Gran Coupe Ride Quality?

Any M8 Competition Gran Coupe owners or anyone who has experienced the ride quality in the Competition please let me know your thoughts.
Im purchasing a 2022 M8 Competition Gran Coupe, but am a little concerned that I will be frustrated with the comfort as a daily driver. I've been reading mixed reviews on this aspect and I would appreciate your personal opinions.
In searching for a M8, I just couldn't seem to justify not buying the Competition. Because of where I'm located and the fact that there are few out there, I am unable to test drive one first. I'm a car guy, and love the performance and style first but also don't want it to jar my teeth with every pot hole.
Thank you for your help.

I have a 2023 M8C and use it as my daily driver in non-winter months (~25 miles to work each way) and find the ride perfectly fine. It’s not as soft as my X5, but it’s not jarring also (in comfort suspension setting). Putting the suspension into the sportier setting does stiffen the ride, but still would not say it’s jarring.

Mine looks just like the one in your picture.

I daily drive (drive until it got t-boned) and it was zero issues for me. I drive with the comfort settings for steering and suspension. I drive year round since I live in Phoenix. It’s not a soft squishy ride but it is plenty comfortable for me, my wife, kids and friends. No one that has ridden in it has said it was rough. Unless you need a very soft ride, I think you’ll be just fine.

Thank you so much for the feedback, I appreciate it. I'm excited to pick mine up this Friday. I'll have a 5 hour drive after I pick it up, so that should be plenty of time to test the comfortability.

I try my best at the best of times... It is MUCH softer than the coupe too me a bit washy like a boat. I got one as a loaner from my dealer a while back since it was in on trade not yet put on the floor. Not one I would see my self in but seems like perfect for your needs.

Now that was extremely helpful, and I do appreciate the feedback. I do agree with you, I think for my wants & needs it will be a great car. I can't get by with a 2 door, but still want something with serious performance and style. For me the M5 is too boring to look at, and it's worth the extra cost for the 8.
I appreciate your input. Thank you

Plus, you gotta remember that Tenac most likely suffers from back seat envy. I think bloozemanAZ said it best several years ago that his coupe back seat is big enough for a laptop and maybe a light jacket, or words to that effect. Certainly not human sized people.

You will thoroughly enjoy your 5 hour ride home.

Same here. Love the M5 and could have got a M5C that was at the dealership before my order arrived for less than the M850i coupe. Just couldn't do it as just looks like any other really nice sedan out there on the streets. Obviously a performance monster but esthetics plays a role in my desires.

Actually here's what's in the back seat: a box of Kleenex and my 8-series BMW sun visor. All that reasonably fits.

I agree. Especially if on comfort setting for the suspension. For my driving around Phoenix I'm in comfort for suspension but performance modes for engine and transmission. I'm only in sport suspension when I go on my desert drive as perfectly smooth road for it but all the twisty curves and long straights to have fun on.

I have to say, I really enjoy the community here and being able to discuss our passion for cars and our opinions and experiences with them. I look forward to posting how my drive home goes on Friday, and my thoughts on the M8C GC. Although, it's hard to imagine there's much not to love! 😁 Here's a photo of what happened last year when I picked up my CLS63 AMG (that car didn't last long) I assume it could be a repeat scenario 🤣

Have both M5 2018 launch edition 1/400 & M8 2020 Comp Cabriolet!
The cabriolet comp hands dow rides much more comfortably! Not idea why! How! It is what it is!

Love the M8 comp ride! And scared to touch it! I mean dare lower it with KW HAS, because I fear rose quality will suffer!

Enjoy

I have the M8 GC and think it rides great. In comfort mode it rides firm but not stiff. Even with the suspension ramped up all the way it is still a nice ride. Just perfect for M2 mode with everything else ramped up as well. For what the car is the suspension to me is perfect. For me no need to upgrade or lower.
It's a gentleman's Jekyll and Hide. One minute it's sedate and easy going and with the push of a few buttons it's ready to be a bad boy.
It even looks slightly under the radar to most people. I like that part. Kinda not too noticeable by non car people.
This will never be a sports car in the sense what most people think of that term. If you want sport car which I know you don't this not that car.
I think you'll like it as a daily and family mover. The great part is this car is a beast when you want it.
When the kids and the wife are not in the car you'll have a lot of fun. I don't have any little kids or grand kids but the back seat is perfect for " mannerly " kids. It's pretty nice back there.

Agree with this 100%.

You'll love it. For me, handles like a dream......and the acceleration will give you joy each and every time you put your foot down.

Amazing car; cruiser one minute and hooligan the next.

Let us know your experience after your drive home.

Hermmmm. Let's see.....OP asks about M8GC ride comfort. You reply by asking about an M850 x-pipe.

Yeah, I guess that makes sense. 🤔

Ive had an M8 GC Comp and now have an M8 Coupe Comp:

The GC has almost a 10 inch longer frame and wider stance which leads to less road feel and more fluff vs the coupe. Its the more comfy ride if you are looking for a GT cruiser. The weight is around 100 more lbs than the coupe so thats non material.

But with the longer and wider wheel base comes sacrifice from a driver's standpoint as the coupe feels much lighter and lively. Further, the coupe has a louder exhaust because of the shorter pipe travel.

But the GC to the OP's question is relatively soft. But its still an M and the EDC in Sport Plus is taut and still a bit of a kidney punch. Its not as bouncy as the coupe though and if you had the KW HAS (which I did on both) you will get better spring rates than the oem springs plus a better stance.

I dont miss much about my GC but I do miss the expressway comfort vs the coupe (KW vs KW). Obviously comfort is subjective and I personally enjoy more road feel than less and would rather have tighter compression and rebound process over bumps and uneven pavement. Others may not.

Agree with that also the weight difference compared to the coupe is more around 200 pound (185 pound to be exact) and that makes a big difference
