Dinan Exhaust Valve Controller Question and thoughts wanted
Hi Guys
I'm about to install the Dinan Exhaust valve controller unit. Does anyone know if the stock exhaust valve button the car has from BMW then becomes inoperative? Or does it still work in spite of the Dinan unit. Might be kind of a stupid question but still wonder? How do you like this unit if you have installed one. |

I honestly don't know because I don't have one.... but if I ventured a guess they probably are "disabled" and you have to use their remote. Curious to see if anyone knows for sure or maybe it is in your documentation for the unit? Also I thought for M8's if you get the MPerformance exhaust there is a "dummy valve" controller and no valves in the exhaust. Kind of remember reading that in the manuals / literature in the forum.

It goes in tmo so I'll let you know what it does. I'm not expecting any more than the volume I get now. And yes I expect it simply over rides the cars own switch.
I really use comfort most of the time so a bit more loudness will be nice while in comfort. |

Bad news is the install flopped out. Why you ask?
Because my kit didn't include the T harness needed to connect to the flaps. Opps Dinan. Good news is they shipped me one all the way to Waterloo Ontario from Alabama in less than 21 hours after I called. Shipped cross country at that. UN REAL Wow. Super fast UPS service that must have been . And pricey too I bet. I paid Zero. What a great company. Superb service imo. Highly recommend. Install next week.....again. |
