Hi Folks

Anyone here decated their m850i yet?
Knocking out my opf next week and thinking about removing cat aswell.
Only issues i see are too loud on extended journeys and constant smell of fuel
Any experiences welcome.

I cant help here, one- my car is not an M850i and two- I have my primary cats.

Now if the exhaust is similar you will have primary and secondary cats plus a resonator and then a set of muffler cans. Since you have OPF's I have no idea how is truly set up but if you have secondaries, pull those off first as you wont get a CEL.

I agree with Vic55 I would opt to do a secondary cat delete only and see how that fares. Also depends what you are after. If it's performance than you can pair that with a full exhaust system and intake and you'll be happy with the results. If it's just the sound you're after than you can just do the secondary cat delete and resonator delete. Would save a lot of money with that option.

Hi Guys

Thanks for your replies.
In the Uk we have cat, opf then resonator.
Got the opfs out and had software removed, also did a resonator delete and wow what a difference. Turbos spool quicker and the noise is soo addictive.
Ran a dyno yesterday and got 719bhp 875nm torque!

Does removing these components have any effect on passing the emission test in a MOT?

If you leave your primaries stock and just deleted OPF and secondaries you won’t have any issues in passing MOT
