In my opinion black buttons were more sporty than silver(galvanic finish). That's why they put black buttons to coupe/convertible and more luxurious gran coupe put silver buttons. Facelifting of 8-series was the most minior of history in BMW

Like this a lot... wonder if I could swap it out on my 2023 840i coupe with this your piece to have the mode selector on the steering wheel, and that it will actually work.

Funny how we're all different. I couldn't wait to get rid of all the silver on my steering wheel. Swapped most of it out for carbon.
Us guys need a depository for parts. Then we could access what each other don't want....lol
You want silver buttons and I want black....wanna trade type thing.

I have MY23 8C and I love the galvanic buttons. Looks a lot more high end IMO.

I agree the plastic black buttons on the door need to go. On the wheel is fine for me it blends much better but the door with B&W would be very nice with all one color.

Yea I don’t mind the black on the steering wheel and you’re right, door cards look awesome with galvanic + B&W…

Ya mine is the same. I will admit that the silver on the door switches look best. And the black switches work on the steering wheel for me too.
I just couldn't stand the silver Roy Rogers wheel trim. My wheel is all black now with carbon and alcantara trim. WAY better for me. Just about to do the whole steering column in carbon covers on Tuesday. I also had to get rid of the stock silver paddles and replace with the stock style carbon units. I didn't want the really big paddles as I don't use them a lot. Happy now.

Is there a carbon piece for the trim that the buttons insert into?

I just did the alcantara carbon piece from IND. Or wherever. A lot of guys have done this swap. Those who prefer the wheel with darker tones. The silver for me is not to my taste.

I'm gonna have a complete steering column now in carbon. I even bought this part a few years back and it look great to me.
Opps....it doesn't seem to be their site anymore. It was the carbon part just above the top column behind the wheel.

Now the rest is being added Tuesday.
