1929 Model A - BDA

I saw a writeup of this car in the March, '08 issue of "Hot Rod" (Yes I get "Hot Rod", and 'Road & Track", and "AutoWeek", and "Automotive Engineering", and "Automotive News", and "Roundel", and "Victory Lane", and "Dub" (don't ask ; -) - it's a sickness).

I really wanted to see this thing in action and now I have. I've had a chance to drive Model A's on occasion and none of them were like this. A Cosworth BDA in a heavily tweaked Model A. They use a 'spark interrupter' to recreate the flathead four stumble of an original Model A. The wheels are bespoke cast aluminum painted to look like gun carriage wood spokes. Oh man - the ultimate sleeper!!

That was awesome, and, yes, the ultimate sleeper as well. Funny stuff.

That's freaking great! I wondered how light the A would be, and is tells me at the end. Thanks for posting.

Btw, did you notice the 'For Sale' section, where they have special interest cars... including Joseph Stalin's ex-parade car for sale!!

1949 ZIS 110 #017
Ex Dictator Joseph Stalin’s parade car, 1276 km from new, EU-registered.
History documented, 2001 fully restored to its original specification with appropriate patina for its age.

That was a very cool resto. I just spent about an hour browsing that site. Very, very impressive operation. Those Ferrari restorations are incredible.
