New to the 8 Series

Hey guys, can anyone advise, if M8 wheels and tires will fit my 22 840i?

Not really. The M8 wheels are an inch wider in the front and an inch and a half wider in the rear. Which is OK, but the M8 offset is less than the 840 and M850. The tires will poke out just beyond the fenders. Not a good look and not good for the paint.

I've tried.

I did a Vossen set with a 9" front and a 10.5" rear. A number of others on this forum have done the same size and slightly different offsets depending on the brand. The front has 255 width with a 32 offset that pushes the wheel out about 7mm. The rear has a 295 width with a 45 offset that pushes the wheel out about 15mm. 20" wheels and same OEM tire height. I was going to go 285 in the back, but the low profile looked dopey (too stretched) so I elected to go with 295. Performance has improved immensely.

Here's a look at the stance. Nice and fat in back.

I have an M850, but I think the M850 and 840 share the same OEM wheels for the most part. There is no rubbing.

So,

(tires) 255 front and 285-295 rear would work with a 9" & 10.5" set up?
