Just checked the press release for the F12, the 650xi was 4641lbs. Slightly disappointed this weighs 4736lbs.

so, my initial reaction is that the high belt-line on this car doesn't do the shape any favors in convertible form
really hate the trapezoid shaped exhaust outlets. man, that's MB's bag
also think the Liberace-inspired shifter is cheesy AF
wheels are too f-ing busy for me as well
sorry to be a killjoy

#because weigh too much
#because maintenance
#larger price tag doesn't = hard top .. the general trend is AWAY from the hardtop now.. regardless of price point.

Even though the niche market for this car is probably the middle age wealthy single people, but they may want to take friends or family to a dinner or lunch.
Looking forwards to m8 GC!
Ever see the rear seats of a 911?
Have you seen the size or weight of 911 compare to 8er?
They don't sell 911 as a 4 seater car. 2 different animals
Ya I know, it's just not unique to have two barely usable rear seats in a convert GT.

https://www.bmw.co.uk/configurator#/FY42//G14/esl/new/ pics don't work for the options

https://www.bmw.de/de/ssl/configurat...2/G14/esl/new/ pics work but obviously not in English

If the next gen 4-series ragtop (G22) looks similar, it'll be my next ride.

The 8 is very nice. But a styling/form/design that's appropriate on a 3/4 series, isn't a obvious choice on the top dog. As we can see om the rear on the 8, it's just not elegant enough. Having said that, it's a gorgeous car, the interiour Looks a bit dated next to the new X5, but it's a great package.

Well about 150 lb is because of xdrive and the remaining 100 lb probably because of some standard features were not included in base 4450 lb F12 6er!

My thoughts exactly. I didn't like the coupe's roofline as much, I was expecting a pillar-less design like the original 8. But the convertible fixes that.

That's not impressive in today's world. Man, that sounds crazy to say. But it's not.

I'm thinking the M8, should be factory rated at 2.8-2.9.

It is. Many cars have been in that territory, for a while. The new M5, is a happy participant.

M8 should be slightly quicker.

Crazy times we live in for sure.
