Best price for a leftover M8 Convertible
Aloha - We live on Maui - and have an M850i Cab on order. But allocations appear to be closed. The dealer has one M8 Cab on the lot. Looking for advice for discount - list is $147K.

For a base M8 vert you might be on the higher end of that range, and that's pre-loyalty. Although, you people like to pay more for things in Maui, so idk, a dealer with what might be the last M8 vert on the island... Good luck!

Exactly as the 15 to 20% is easily achieved here in the lower 48 (aka continental US) but Hawaii is a microcosm economy within its own regarding supply and demand. Which is why on average a gallon of milk is about $7 ($5 at Costco and $9 in a grocery store) vs $2 here in AZ.

Doesn't everything cost more in Hawaii?

My uneducated assumption is the car cost the same as it would to any dealer in the Continental US- they key here will be the build date for flagship monies and if the car is floored and being written down.
If it was punched- the dealer would be stupid not to especially in Hawaii- then they have collected the FS monies but still should allocate part or most to the buyer especially if they still are paying down the car. Now if its paid off then its a sunken cost and they can let it sit for the best buyer. Im assuming this is the Dravit Grey in Kahului; this car has flagship or it did. Its an 11/2019 build date- assume 12k there but probably cashed plus whatever is in the msrp to holdback (11ish%) plus what they are willing to lose to move dead weight. I like 25% but they might hold off if they have paid the car from their line. 120k is the net net on that car but its well over a birthday old. Offer 110k- see what they say.
