Blind Spot Alerts

Hello There,

Driving in city with the sun in the back I find Very difficult to see Blind spot alerts feedbacks on my 2023 M850i...
I had also sound alerts on my previous car when activating the turn signal and this was very useful for the blind spot area...
I activated the steering wheel vibrations feedbacks but again seems too subtle when needed.
is there any way to activate audio feedbacks on Blind spot Alerts ?

thanks

Yes roll down the window and listen to the guy yelling at you as you almost hit his car. Seems to work very well in the cities.

The only thing that I can think of that may be helpful to you is to adjust the level of the steering wheel vibration feedback. There's a low, medium and high setting in the Driver's Assist menu iirc.

Hello Asthenis,

A new 840 owner, I too have an unresponsive or barely perceivable blind spot warning vibration. Two trips to BMW have produced only condescension and out-right denial that there is a problem. I was wondering if you ever did find a solution, and, if so, if you would share it.

Whats happened with the old school to set up your mirrors properly and use them to observe cars around you?

This may not be shocking but the actual process to properly setup mirrors has been lost.......

You could spend a bunch of money and implement the solution that BMW should have done from the beginning.

Ride a motorbike for a few years and the life saving skill of doing shoulder checks while driving a car becomes second nature.

That is a good thing.

I'm not sure as to differences in my 2020 M850i vs a 2023 but if anything it may be one's iD7 release. That said I'm on 07/2023 but even prior I've never experienced an issue whatsoever with BSM. Flick the the turn signal or not without paying attention to the BSM in the mirrors and instantaneous steering wheel intervention vs vibration (lane departure before intervention).

I've left mine on the default "medium" but you can try "early" if that helps.

Ditto…I’ve been upgrading my US side mirrors to the Euro wide angle/aspherical mirrors since my e34 5 series.

But you don’t have to get raked over the coals if you don’t mind used mirrors. Sometimes we can get lucky when a part is shared across multiple platforms…and in this case, the wide angle mirrors are used on multiple models that have a used market (especially in Europe).

You can shop online to find good competitive pricing…I’ve gotten my last sets of mirror for my 2013 & 2015 F06 GC & 2014 F15 X5 from the Baltic states (Lithuania & Latvia) and one set from Germany.
